Director of AccountingDescriptionThe Controller/Manager of
Accounting is a key memberof the Finance leadership team and will
oversee all accounting activities of a -$3.2Bbusiness. The
Controller will manage a team of accounting professionals andwork
closely with the business in a variety of accounting duties
including, butnot limited tomonthly,quarterlyand annual financial
reporting; analysis of general, manufacturing accountingactivities;
and oversight of program accounting for large, long- termcontracts.
This position requires technical accounting knowledge and
hedgetransaction knowledge to minimize the company to foreign
currency exposures, aswell as branch accounting of foreign entities
in the international marketswhere Bell conducts business.
Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), SOX
controlstandards, and government accounting.Responsibilitiesinclude
but are not limited to:
Ledgers, the preparation and posting of manual and systematic
journalentries, the month close process and monthly
reconciliations; preparation andsubmittal of Financial Statements
in accordance with Company Policy andProcedures, Contractual and
Regulatory Requirements, andGAAP.
- Protects assets by establishing, monitoring, and
interfacing withTextron,DCAAand other Government auditors and with
- Achieves budget objectives by scheduling expenditures;
analyzingvariances; initiating correctiveactions.
- Provides status of financial condition bycollecting,
interpreting, and reporting financial data. Prepares specialreports
by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information
- Complies with federal, state, and local legalrequirements by
studying existing and new legislation; anticipating
- Maintains financial staff by recruiting, selecting,orienting,
and training employees. Completes operational requirements
byscheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
Maintainsfinancial staff job results by coaching, counseling, and
discipliningemployees; planning, monitoring, and appraising
- BS in Accounting
- Certified PublicAccountant (CPA Certificate)
- Chartered GlobalManagement Accountant (CGMA designation) and/or
- At least 7 yearsaccounting experience similar to government
accounting or Big 4 public accounting.
- Internationalfinancial experience is a plus.
- Demonstrated teamleadership experience.
