Location:Dodson Medical Office BuildingDepartment:OrthopedicsShift:First Shift (United States of America)Standard Weekly Hours:40Summary:The Medical Receptionist II will perform various front office functions for Cook Children's orthopedic clinics. Duties will include handling incoming/outgoing calls for the 6 orthopedic clinics to assist with scheduling patients for appointments, verifying patient records, obtaining insurance & consent verifications, and assisting with referrals and collections. This job requires strong customer service skills and a high level of flexibility as well as the ability to adapt to changes as they occur in both staffing levels as well as patient volumes. Must have a basic understanding of insurance plans and medical terminology.Required Education/Experience:

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• 2 years' experience working in a medical office.
• Understanding of diversified insurance plans.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and coding.
• Strong customer service/communication skills.
