Job Description:
As a Senior Belt Technician, at Applied Industrial Technologies
, you will perform a variety of duties within a shop, in the field
and at customer locations; in and out of state installing,
replacing and repairing conveyor belts. We’ll ensure that you
receive extensive ongoing training and provide you with solid
feedback and support to reach both the company and your personal
goals. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Build / repair belts and rubber
components Fabricate, install and repair conveyor belting, and
other rubber products Train lower level technicians to handle,
store, care for, use and set up vulcanizers Train lower level
technicians the fundamentals of installing and vulcanize
lightweight and heavyweight conveyor belting Install and vulcanize
lightweight and heavyweight conveyor belting Load and unload field
service trucks and trailers Exercise proper care in the use of
tools and equipment Work in a manner that ensures the safety of
everyone involved Observe all prescribed safety rules and
regulations; maintain work area in a neat and orderly condition
Supervise employees and address concerns Professionally discuss and
manage customer concerns Ability and willingness to communicate
with management in a professional manner Complete time sheets and
expense reports in a timely and accurate manner Ability to lead up
to 5 man crew on a field installation or repair of conveyor belting
at a customer’s facility Conduct belt audits Perform pulley lagging
Experience with Fabric/Steel Cord/Solid Woven/Ply etc. Sets up and
plans equipment for continuous operations Create splice reports
Knowledge to set up work area, including removal of conveyor
components, clamping off belt, and raising counterweight Assemble
and dissemble vulcanizing equipment Understanding of the products
used in splicing Install all types of splices, splice materials and
all related installation tools Perform hot and cold repairs Lift
75-100 pounds frequently Basic math skills/ use a tape measure Work
at heights Work in all-weather conditions Operate mechanical
conveyor belt handling equipment such as winders, winches and belt
stands Worked three years installing and vulcanizing lightweight or
heavyweight conveyor belting Able to load field service trucks for
field jobs Understand job work scope Oversee load/unload field
service trucks/trailers and job work area set up Follow directions
and assist/mentor in training lower level technicians Take
direction and assist lead belt technician or Field Service
coordinator Travel and train with Field Service coordinator and
Rubber Specialist in condition assessments Must have a positive
attitude to workplace safety Job Requirements: Demonstrate
commitment to quality, concern for job turn around and customer
downtime Work a variety of schedules including on-call, dayshift,
nightshift, overtime, weekend and holidays Travel out of state
Current driver’s license Ability to drive truck and trailer
combinations (CDL Class A license preferred) Supervise employees
and address concerns Professionally discuss and manage customer
concerns Ability and willingness to communicate with management in
a professional manner Complete time sheets and expense reports in a
timely and accurate manner Ability to lead up to 5 man crew on a

condition/issues/problems to rubber specialist when required
EXPECTATIONS: Follow directions on splice work from Field Service
Coordinator/Rubber Specialist Communicate any problems/issues on
the job with field coordinator immediately Work any schedule Work
any holiday Work at heights Work in all-weather conditions Work a
