Department OverviewThe University of North Texas Health Science Center (UNTHSC) is expanding its educational offerings through the department of Lifestyle Health Sciences. The Department of Lifestyle Health Sciences (LHS) is housed within the School of Health Professions (SHP), which also includes a Physician Assistant Studies Program and a Physical Therapy Program. Our Vision is to be One university, built on values, defining and producing the providers of the future.Position DetailsWe are seeking a faculty member who recognizes the importance of a values-based culture, who is innovative and team-oriented. This is a unique opportunity to be on the development team for a new Master of Science in Lifestyle Health Sciences and Coaching. The new master's degree program has received all regulatory approvals and will enroll its first cohort of students in summer 2020. This core faculty position requires involvement in program planning, implementation, teaching and advising. Faculty will be responsible for creating original, interactive, online and face-to-face course content; coordinating lifestyle medicine and coaching outreach endeavors; and providing community service. We are looking for a dynamic, self-starter with experience in corporate health and wellness programming or coaching, behavioral psychology, and graduate online teaching who is committed to being part of an interprofessional team.Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:* Support curriculum planning and implementation efforts for an innovative degree program in alignment with the departmental, school and institutional vision* Responsible for teaching and advising graduate students in online and face-to-face courses* Collaborate with interprofessional faculty, staff, and students* Coordinate and facilitate on-campus and community educational experiences to promote healthy lifestyle behaviors, mindfulness, and professionalism* Represent the department and provide service on school and university committees as assigned* Represent the department/ UNTHSC and deliver presentations at community and professional events* Responsible for continued compliance training and professional developmentThe University of North Texas System and its component institutions are committed to equal opportunity and comply with all applicable federal and state laws regarding nondiscrimination and affirmative action.
