Job Description:
Salary: Commensurate with experience/Days: 224 Primary Purpose:
Direct and manage the development, implementation, and evaluation
of elementary curriculum, instructional strategies, and assessment
practices. Directly supervise curriculum coordinators and
instructional coaches to ensure high-quality teaching and learning
experiences that align with district goals and support student
achievement across all elementary campuses. Provide support to
campus administrators in driving instructional excellence through
the work of instructional coaches and curriculum coordinators.
Qualifications: Education/Certification: Master's degree in
Curriculum & Instruction, Education Administration, or other
related field Texas Principal or Mid-Management Administrator
Certification (preferred) Special Knowledge/Skills: Extensive
knowledge of curriculum design, instructional strategies, and
assessment practices Proven ability to interpret and utilize data
to evaluate instructional programs and guide improvements Strong
leadership skills in supervising and developing instructional staff
Ability to effectively implement laws and district policies related
to curriculum and instruction Excellent communication,
interpersonal, and presentation skills Experience: Minimum of three
years of experience as a classroom teacher Minimum of five years of
experience in instructional leadership roles at a district or
campus level Successful experience as a campus or district
administrator (preferred) Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Instructional and Program Management 1. Lead the development,
review, and revision of elementary curriculum documents, ensuring
alignment with state standards (TEKS) and district-wide strategic
goals to support student achievement. 2. Participate in the
district-level decision-making process to establish and review the
district’s goals and objectives and major classroom instructional
programs. Ensure that goals and objectives are developed using
effective collaborative processes and problem-solving techniques.
3. Monitor and reevaluate instructional programs on an ongoing
basis using input from teachers and principals, applied research,
and student data to determine effectiveness and improve outcomes.
Recommend changes and adjustments where appropriate. 4. Oversee the
selection, procurement, and distribution of high-quality
instructional resources and materials in collaboration with
Instructional Materials personnel. 5. Partner with elementary
campus administrators to ensure effective implementation of
curriculum, instructional strategies, and assessment practices. 6.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of elementary instructional
programs and teaching practices through data analysis, classroom
observations, and feedback loops. 7. Support campus-based
professional learning communities and related initiatives focused
on improving student outcomes and teacher efficacy. 8. Design and
deliver targeted professional development for elementary teachers
and instructional staff in collaboration with other departments. 9.
Direct and monitor the work of instructional coaches to effectively
implement the district’s instructional coaching model to partner
with teachers on instructional planning, best practices, and the
delivery of high-quality instruction across elementary campuses.
10. Direct and monitor the work of curriculum coordinators to
develop, refine, and maintain high-quality curriculum documents
that ensure a guaranteed and viable curriculum across all
elementary campuses. 11. Stay abreast of current research and best
practices in curriculum and instruction to inform continuous
improvement efforts. 12. Ensure that instructional programs and
practices in core content areas meet the needs of all learners,
including special populations, in collaboration with relevant
departments. Policy, Reports, and Law 13. Interpret, implement, and
monitor federal, state, and local policies, regulations, and laws
related to teaching and learning. 14. Compile, maintain, and file
all reports, records, and other documents as required. Budget 15.
Administer the operational budget for elementary curriculum and
instruction, ensuring efficient and effective use of resources. 16.
Monitor expenditures to ensure compliance with budget allocations.
Personnel Management 17. Provide leadership and guidance to direct
reports, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and
professional growth across the division. 18. Participate in the
implementation of the designated appraisal systems. 19. Select,
train, evaluate, and supervise staff and make recommendations
relative to assignment, retention, discipline, and dismissal.
Communication and Community Relations 20. Establish and maintain a
professional relationship and open communication with campus
administrators, teachers, staff, parents, and community members.
21. Articulate the district’s strategic plan, instructional
philosophy, and curriculum implementation strategies to campus
communities. 22. Collaborate with the Executive Director of
Teaching and Learning and other departmental directors to ensure
cohesive communication and support for elementary programs.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervise, evaluate, and recommend
personnel within the Teaching and Learning department. Mental
