Job Description:

Responsibilities
In this position, the projects will have an emphasis on drainage, floodplain/floodway delineation, detention pond design, reservoir routing, urban drainage systems design, sheet flow analysis, flood mitigation, and floodplain management.

Position responsibilities will include: -

• 
  
• Working with a group of engineers in the performance of water resources, drainage, surface water hydrology and hydraulics design related projects;
  
• Developing understanding and knowledge of frequently used software such as HEC programs, XP-SWMM, etc.
  
• Using sound technical skills to analyze and design water resources engineering projects.
  
• Writing reports to document analysis and design
  
• Attending meetings with project managers and engineers and clients
  
• Developing - working knowledge and understanding of U.S. design codes and standards.
  
• Gaining knowledge in the development of construction documents, plans & specifications.
  
  Qualifications
  
  • 
    
  • BS or MS in Civil Engineering with emphasis in hydrology/hydraulics, water resources or related field
    
  • Minimum 6 months relevant experience whether through internships or research
    
  • EIT or achieve a passing score on the Fundamentals of Engineering exam within 6 months of hire
    
  • Technical proficiency in drainage analysis and design
    
  • Experience with related software/modeling programs including HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, XP-SWMM, etc.
    
  • Good communication and organizational skills, especially technical writing.
    
  • Highly motivated and passionate about a career in surface water hydrology and hydraulics
    
  • Related local experience a plus
    
  • Working knowledge of GIS is a plus
