A Sr. Civil Engineer - Mobility Infrastructure position is available with the City of Fort Worth Transportation and Public Works Department Capital Delivery Division. The position will lead teams of engineering consultants, professional engineers and inspectors in the management and execution of complex and dynamic mobility infrastructure improvement projects. They are responsible for the completion and success of all aspects of the projects from initiation through design and construction.

This position qualifies for the following incentives which is separate from the base pay: Sign-On Incentive of: $5,400 ***50% paid after the completion of first pay period, 50% paid after the completion of 6 months of employment. ***

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in civil engineering or a related field.
• Three (3) years of professional civil engineering experience as a licensed Professional Engineer.
• Two (2) years must relate to civil engineering design and construction projects and/or infrastructure design/review of private development projects (may overlap with the above).
• Possession of a Professional Engineer license in the State of Texas (If licensed in another state, continued employment will be contingent upon obtaining registration as a Licensed Professional Engineer within the State of Texas within six months of employment).
• Valid driver's license. Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with the requirements of federally funded projects.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, with an understanding of the PMBOK, an industry-recognized project management standard.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, Adobe Pro, e-Builder, BIM 360, and geographic information systems (GIS). The Sr. Civil Engineer - Mobility Infrastructure job responsibilities include:
    • Oversee Mobility Infrastructure projects that are designed by outside consultants and constructed by outside contractors and include intersection improvements, traffic signals, pedestrian facilities, street lighting, roundabouts, sidewalks, safe routes to school improvements, bicycle facilities, urban village streetscapes, railroad crossing modifications and arterial roadway improvements.
    • Working independently to perform project management and professional civil engineering work to deliver multiple simultaneous mobility infrastructure improvement projects while coordinating with a variety of stakeholders to deliver projects within budget and on schedule within very tight time constraints.
    • Providing direct support to the Engineering Manager and assisting in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, goals and objectives and making recommendations for changes and improvements to existing standards and procedures.
    • Communicating proactively about projects with City leadership, stakeholders in other City departments, residents of the City of Fort Worth and state and federal agencies.
    • Reviewing construction contracts, drawings, and specifications.
    • Performing construction management including processing amendments, change orders and task orders.
    • Reviewing and approving payment requests and performing other tasks as needed while utilizing City of Fort Worth software/systems and processes.
    • Assisting in the development and professional growth of graduate engineers and professional engineers.
