The team focuses on several key risk types, including conduct, credit, financial crimes, information security, interest rate, liquidity, market, model, operational, regulatory compliance, reputation, strategic, and technology risk. The group provides leadership, enhances communications, assists with problem identification and solutions, and shares best practices. In addition, the group provides an enterprise-wide view of risk, assists management and our Board of Directors in identifying and monitoring risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and takes appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.The Team:The Operational Risk Administration, Planning and Logistics (OR-APL) team which is part of the Corporate Operational Risk Group (ORG) oversees all centralized operational risk functions, including governance and policies, planning, audit and regulatory coordination, training and development, change management, reporting, workforce planning, financial planning, and the overall administration of the Operational Risk function.The OR BPM & Change Coordination team within the OR-APL team is responsible for the following key portfolios:

  • Lead and co-ordinate the Business Process Management (BPM) efforts for the ORG.
  • Executing the centralized non-transformational Change Management process for the ORG.
  • Serve as the central point of coordination for Monitoring activities that are executed across the ORG.The Role:The Operational Risk Consultant will support two key portfolios in the OR BPM & Change Coordination Team - Business Processing Mapping coordination for the ORG and Non-Transformational Change Management Coordination for some areas within the ORG.Operational Risk Group Business Process Mapping Coordination:The Operational Risk consultant will be responsible for Business Process Management (BPM) Coordination for Operational Risk and will provide support to the ORG BPM Point of Contact. Key responsibilities will include coordination of all activities relating to BPM including new Business Process Identification, Process Mapping/Stratification coordination by conducting workshops/sessions to ensure all processes are identified and risk ranked accurately, coordinating deep dives of all business processes to develop process maps, liaise with the BPM COE and Corporate Risk BPM PMO, identify opportunities for efficiency and effectiveness of process engagement and ongoing BPM maintenance, overall review and oversight of the OR BPM inventory to ensure accurate process information and capability alignment with the Risk Management Framework, and managing overall progress/status tracking. Prior risk management experience, business process mapping and risk and control identification experience, and experience in engaging with various levels of management are desirable skills for this role.Non-Transformational Change Management Coordination:The consultant will also be responsible for supporting change management routines for some teams within the ORG. Key responsibilities will include implementing the process, executing routines including conducting the monthly meeting, tracking all change items, working with teams to ensure coverage of all change items, conducting project initiation and pre-closure reviews and using a centralized SharePoint to track and monitor all changes. Prior change management experience, risk management, Operational Risk CCAR and Basel experience and SharePoint administration experience are desirable skills for this role.

    Required Qualifications
    • 6+ years of experience in compliance, operational risk management (includes audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or operational risk), or a combination of both; or 6+ years of IT systems security, business process management or financial services industry experience, of which 3+ years must include direct experience in compliance, operational risk management, or a combination of both

      • SharePoint experience
      • Experience working with changing priorities and deadlines
      • Knowledge and understanding of Shared Risk Platform (SHRP) such as reporting and issue management
      • Ability to execute in a fast paced, high demand, environment while balancing multiple priorities
      • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
      • Ability to interact effectively and confidently with senior management
      • Leadership skills including; coaching, training, and mentoring
      • Ability to facilitate and lead meetings to reach conclusions, identify tasks, record actions, and achieve results

        Other Desired Qualifications
        • Previous Risk Management experience.
        • Demonstrable experience as the Point of Contact for a project or program.
