Role Mission: The Chief-- Information-- Officer-- (C I O)-- is-- the --senior leader-- responsible-- for-- empower ing --IDEA staff to enrich our students' educational experience for a successful transition into college and citizenship, through the effective use of technology and by providing a reliable,-- secure --and robust infrastructure and innovative and scalable-- information-- solutions. The CIO is part of the senior leadership team reporting to the Chief Executive Officer at IDEA, and the Information team supports --and enables all of --our-- topline organizational goals-- including --college matriculation, financial stewardship,-- student achievement, staff-- and teacher retention, and enrollment.-- This is a national role and candidates should be able to reside in one of IDEA's named or future locations: the Rio Grande Valley, Austin, San Antonio, El Paso, Houston, Tarrant County, Permian Basin, Baton Rouge, New Orleans, Tampa, Jacksonville, or Cincinnati.--

Accountabilities Provide reliable, scalable , --secure, --and cost - effective infrastructure services

  • Keeps pace with market innovation and leads network infrastructure improvements across the organization
    • Ensures ongoing savings in total cost of ownership (TCO) for technology equipment, software platforms , --and the overall network-- infrastructure
    • Provides and supports the network and infrastructure services for Head q uarters and Campuses across all of IDEA with an ensured availability of 99.5% uptime
    • Ensures there is consistent services being delivered to our campuses and minimiz es /eliminat es --any outages during critical business hours
    • Ensur es --all applications are monitored and steps are taken proactively for issue prevention rather than issue resolution
    • Provid es --the adequate tools and training all users across IDEA to ensure there is a culture of understanding and ownership of Information Security and Privacy Practices
      • Ensur es --adequate technical safeguards, policies , --and procedures are in place to protect IDEA-- data Continuously leverage existing, emerging, and innovative technologies to enhance, improve, and streamline business processes with goal of reducing cost per student year over year --and ensuring highest level of services and support to staff and students
        • Leverages emerging commoditized trends in technology services to build a scalable yet cost - effective technology practice --for staff and students as part of our 1:1 technology model
        • Ensures overall costs are constantly monitored and technology spending is itemized by service line
          • Ensures a streamlined procurement model that combines best in class technology services at the lowest possible price
          • Establishes and ensures a customer service model among field technicians at the campus levels --and provides the training and development needed to sustain service as we scale
          • Builds and improves the operating mechanisms to provide top notch customer support year around at the campuses Enable centralized collaboration across IDEA with effective collaboration strategies, tools , --and operating mechanisms
            • Identifies key needs of the collaboration platforms within IDEA and ensures the tool continues to meet the end user needs
            • Builds and fosters a culture of constant improvement with the platforms to stay relevant and useful to end user community
            • Driv es --adoption for the collaboration tool and-- process Partner with other senior leaders to ensure IDEA achieves its top-line goals
              • Leads IDEA's data management strategy, by developing cross-functional frameworks for ensuring data accuracy and integrity, implementing cross-functional system integration, and creating the infrastructure for readily available, timely and relevant access to-- data
              • Provide s --financial, instructional, and operational data systems and analytics to accurately predict costs and-- needs
              • Partner s --with budget and finance to build analytical tools for new region pro forma and operating models to accurately predict costs and-- needs
              • Inform s --Advancement/Growth team with key metrics and KPIs to properly assess risk of potential-- regions
              • Unif ies --local demographic trends, student persistence, attendance, and academic success to set ambitious targets for expansion and early scaling success
                • Provide s --rich analysis for national and regional boards to inform growth with quality and future-- actions
                • Effectively build s --usable products-- to-- ensure highest levels of adoption-- o f the tools in day - to - day operations
                • Fosters a culture of the right balance of build vs buy to be cost effective yet innovative where IDEA leads the way Live values of IDEA

                        • Education:-- --Bachelor's degree required
