Our Need

Esme Learning is looking for a Marketing Operations Project Manager to support our dynamic and fast-paced online collaborative learning business with short-course programs we've created with top-tier universities like the University of Oxford, Cambridge, MIT, and more.

The marketing team comes together to deliver big changes that improve Marketing and Learner Sales by choreographing the work across teams by identifying key dependencies, mitigating risks, and removing roadblocks, all with a focus on delivering business value faster.

As a Marketing Operations Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing and providing expert level project management guidance for strategic marketing projects. You will need to work across teams to manage objectives and interdependencies as required across multiple teams. You will be tasked with challenging situations every day and coordinating high profile projects. Candidates should be willing to roll up their sleeves and have a high level of ownership and accountability throughout each project.

The Marketing Operations Project Manager is expected to provide overall, day-to-day management of specific projects including management of project team members, managing scope of work, tasks and resources across multiple assigned projects. You'll also serve as a driver of operational excellence and advocate of continuous improvement. You'll work with team members to continuously improve how they work. It is imperative that you thrive in a fast-paced environment and embrace rapid reprioritization, while practicing clear and consistent communication.

To be successful in this role, you are highly detail-oriented, an excellent communicator, a problem solver, and have the drive to see projects through from start to finish. You will be the coordinator and communicator for multiple strategic marketing initiatives. You'll need strong organizational agility with the ability to engage across all levels of the company. The role also requires analytical and problem solving skills with experience working with Shopify, Facebook, LinkedIn, Google Search, and other digital marketing platforms. It also requires experience working with a CRM tool. This is mandatory.

This role reports to the CMO.

You will engage with Esme Learning marketing leadership including our VP of Marketing, Head of Growth, Group Creative Director, and Director of Research and VP of Comms. You are also someone who loves using and learning about new technologies and SaaS solutions that help make eCommerce, marketing, reporting, customer service, account management a seamless experience for both our internal team and our customers and university partners.

Key Responsibilities
Manage marketing projects that impact internal resources and vendors partners
Run daily stand-ups
Ensure that all work follows the governance and intake process
Scope and manage projects in extensive detail to mitigate risks and keep development partners working effectively and efficiently by removing roadblocks for the team, escalating when appropriate
Work with the design, development and client services teams to maintain processes and improve efficiency across the team
Monitor and provide quality assurance on each project to ensure all tasks are delivered to the highest quality
Create, manage and maintain marketing process documentation to support the delivery of the marketing stack
Lead. Manage all aspects of complex, strategic marketing projects that span marketing and learner sales teams. Bring clarity to those projects, create open dialogue across the team, identify and remove blockers, encourage collaboration
Facilitate. Conduct scrum status meetings, showcases, project read-outs, and retrospectives. Assist marketing leadership in virtual solutioning or planning workshops when necessary
Organize: Leverage JIRA and as primary tools to assemble progress reports & dashboards; and manage project risks and issues. Develop project outlooks with clear interdependency, milestone and achievements
Coach. Promote team empowerment. Encourage sustainable pace. Hold teams accountable for commitments and provide feedback. Champion Agile best practices to continuously deliver business value
Balance: Blend traditional project management principles and practices with an Agile approach to fit complex, strategic-level projects that ensures the right harmony of agility and predictability
Communicate. Share project expectations, status, and blockers to ensure all participating teams have the information needed to make critical decisions, take next steps and remove blockers. This includes interacting with both business and marketing individuals at all levels including executive level
Understand the capabilities of a variety of different eComm and marketing technology and cloud-based solutions

You will be in a position to answer questions, refine briefs, scope projects, identify and document problems to be solved, make recommendations, and manage engineering operations and delivery. From day one you'll need to effectively balance day-to-day marketing operations project management while also supporting and maintaining longer-term objectives

4+ years of experience in marketing
6+ years of stakeholder management skills and demonstrated business outcomes

Strong executive communications and negotiation skills
Exceptional written & verbal communications
Above average organizational and project management skills
Self-starter, problem solver, highly responsible and responsive, deadline-oriented, and independent
Entrepreneurial spirit. Thinks big and acts with urgency and focus, always with optimism for the futures
Takes ownership and effectively maximizes return on marketing investment
You will have experience in managing and delivering projects on budget, within scope and on time
You will need to have an understanding of e-commerce platforms or other content management systems
