Summary:The HR Manager will be responsible for supporting employees
in DFIN's corporate functions (Product Engineering, IT, and
Finance) in all areas of Human Resources such as staffing,
compensation, benefits, training & development, employee relations,
and employment law compliance. This is a remote, work-from-home
position with preference given to candidates in the Chicago metro
area for ad hoc meetings and events.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the development and administration of programs,
procedures, and guidelines to help align the workforce with the
strategic goals of the company.
- Responsible for proactive employee relations, communication
support, and internal management consultation in all aspects of
Human Resources.
- Assist in the development and implementation of strategic HR
initiatives.
- Assist in the development and facilitation of corporate
orientation programs. Expertise in Employee Experience and/or
virtual onboarding is a plus.
- Develop and manage meaningful metrics that accurately assess
the effectiveness of the workforce.
- First point of contact for guidance to employees ensuring
consistent adherence to HR policies, procedures, and
practices.
- Partner with HR Centers of Excellence (Benefits, Talent,
Compensation, Payroll) to field employee questions and resolve
issues.
- Conduct investigations on employee complaints, including but
not limited to, harassment, discrimination, and violation of
company policies.
- Manage workflows for employee data changes and ensure accurate
records in the HRIS system.
- Perform other related duties and participate in special
projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to functional work
with 5 - 7 years of relevant work experience OR demonstrated
ability to meet the job requirements through a comparable number of
years of applicable work experience.
- Able to apply the depth of HR expertise and managerial judgment
in analyzing complex problems and developing creative
solutions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to
interact at all levels of the organization, from non-exempt
employees to executives.
- Able to operate independently, prioritize tasks, and work
efficiently
- Uncompromising integrity and ability to maintain
confidentiality
- Strong conflict resolution and relationship building
skills
- Experience in a Software Engineering or SaaS business is a
plus
- Knowledge of the Employee Experience function and/or virtual
onboarding is a plus
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Teams, Sharepoint, Excel,
Outlook)
- Prior exposure to HRIS systems (SuccessFactors a plus)
- Extensive knowledge of general employment laws, EEO/AAP, and
policy development
