We are seeking individuals that reflect our values of exceptional customer experience, mutual respect, embracing our diversity, continuous improvement, ethical behavior, and accountability.An Engineering Manager job is available with the City of Fort Worth Transportation Public Works Department Stormwater Management Program. This position reports to the Stormwater Program Manager and is responsible for providing strategic leadership for the use of approximately $15M of the City's annual Stormwater Enterprise Funds and stewardship of drainage revenue bond funds.This stewardship includes strategic planning to mitigate flood prone locations and coordinating with internal departments and external agencies for partnership opportunities. The ideal candidate is desired to have strong interpersonal and leadership skills, the ability to work independently; and possess good oral and written communication skills.The position qualifies for the following incentives which is separate from base pay:

  • Sign-On Incentive of $9,000
  • Relocation Allowance of up to $1,500The Engineering Manager - Stormwater Capital Improvement Planning job responsibilities include:
    • Preparing 5-year Capital Improvement Plan for 12 programs within stormwater management and track expenses on a quarterly basis
    • Coordinate with stormwater capital delivery group to ensure effective delivery of our capital projects
    • Lead stormwater management project prioritization and project selection
    • Consultant contract administration and project management
    • Planning and feasibility evaluations to address inquiries from citizens or upper management
    • Coordinate with other departments within the city and other public or private entities to find project partnership opportunities
    • Review of hydrology and hydrologic analysis, reports and construction design plansMinimum Qualifications:
      • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in civil engineering or a related field
      • Five (5) years of increasing Stormwater Engineering and Program management experience
      • Two (2) years of administrative and supervisory responsibility
      • Possession of registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Texas. If licensed in another state, continued employment will be contingent upon obtaining registration as a Professional Engineer within the State of Texas within six months of employment
      • Valid Texas driver's license Preferred Qualifications:
        • GIS proficiency
        • Solid understanding of drainage principles
        • Customer service experience and an understanding of proper customer relationship practices (i.e., having the ability to deal with all types of customers, while remaining pleasant)
        • Knowledge of construction and maintenance of public infrastructure
        • Hydrologic and/or Hydraulic modeling experience
        • Microsoft Access proficiencyConditions of EmploymentCandidates who do not meet the Education requirement, may be considered if they have more relevant work experience than the position requires.
