The Opportunity
In this role you will have the opportunity to be assigned to the
Black & Veatch (B&V) CIO Program Management Office with the
accountability to manage critical programs across the spectrum of
CIO services. The Program Manager may also be responsible for
directly managing one or more of the projects within programs. The
Program Manager leads the overall management of programs and is
responsible for all aspects of the planning, monitoring,
development, and implementation; and is the single point of contact
for assigned programs. #LI-NK1
Key Responsibilities
General Program Managementand Leadership
Provides program management leadership following B&V
methodology and standards
Integrates activities across all impacted B&V organizations to
ensure successful implementation & support of program
objectives
Leads and manages program and project teams throughout the program
lifecycle
Scope Management
Ensures the program scope is adequately defined and the program is
designed and executed to deliver the scope objectives
Works closely with Program sponsors (Business & IT) to ensure
requirements are complete, accurate and measurable
Manages change requests and provides stakeholders with impact
assessment of requested changes (scope, cost, time, risk)
Time Management
Ensures that appropriate estimates for program resources (Business,
IT & Vendor) are prepared and maintained
Establishes & maintains program work plans within approved B&V
PPM tools for scheduling, tracking, and monitoring project
progress/results
Financial Management
Ensures that initial program estimates & financial forecasts are
complete with sufficient level of detail to support baseline
estimates
Throughout program, ensures that program budget/actuals are
accounted for accurately, completely, and timely
Reviews developed business case and performs periodic reviews to
ensure that business case objectives are achieved (this includes
Value Realization)
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors of Business Administration or related field.
Twelve or more years related experience. All applicants must be
able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if
selected) which may include any/all of the following:
criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle
records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and
regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
PMI certification (PMP/PgMP)
Agile Scrum Master and/or Product Owner certification
Experience managing programs in an outsourced model
5+ years of experience as a Program Manager for efforts of varying
levels of scale and complexity in technology development
environment with multi-function teams
A proven track record of successfully implementing IT programs that
may include software application implementations, infrastructure or
custom development technical projects using Waterfall, Agile and/or
DevSecOps methodologies
Experience building high performing teams, consensus gathering and
negotiations
Superior communications across all organizational levels and
functions
Certifications
PMP Certification desired
Work Environment/Physical Demands
