Salary Information Salary Commensurate with Experience
Position Summary This position plans and directs all aspects of UNT
Dallas Human Resources (HR) policies, objectives, and initiatives,
and develops and administers innovative HR programs and policies to
support institution goals and positively engage the workforce. The
incumbent in this role advises leadership on all HR issues with
broad and current subject matter knowledge that includes expertise
in federal and state employment laws. Additional responsibilities
include the oversight and development of procedures to analyze
trends and develop workforce plans to resolve issues and make a
positive impact on business results, and leading the development
and coordination of HR initiatives, communication, and events with
university leadership, managers and supervisors.
Job Responsibilities
Provides campus level leadership of all HR programs including, but
not limited to, compensation, benefits, employee relations,
performance evaluation, grievance review, training and development,
employee engagement and retention of employees.
Provides proactive advice and counsel to the President, cabinet and
senior level employees. Keeps the President & cabinet informed of
any significant problems that jeopardize the achievement of
university goals.
Provides input to strategic plans and leads the review,
development, and modification of HR policy, processes, procedures,
and programs in compliance with federal, state, local, and
University requirements.
Plays a key role in advancing the relationships between the HR
Department and institutional departments to help facilitate
collaboration and the success fulfilling the university's purpose,
vision, mission and goals.
Assesses current HR services/programs/processes for developing and
implementing new services/programs/processes to meet the needs of
the campus community.
Directs and oversees a team of professional and administrative HR
staff and student employees.
Develops business proposals for justification of HR related
initiatives, and develops and executes short and long-term
departmental plans.
Serves as HR representation on campus-wide committees, task forces
and work groups. Foresees and recommends the need to adapt HR
policies and procedures to address current and future
challenges.
Partners with other HR leadership to align HR programs, policies,
procedures and systems to meet the goal of the institution.
Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with other HR leadership
to develop solutions, programs and policies.
In partnership with the Office of General Counsel, maintains
in-depth knowledge of legal requirements and options related to
day-to-day management of employees, to include evaluation of
employee performance and actions available to reward, modify or
terminate employment, thereby reducing legal risks and ensuring
regulatory compliance.
Contributes to business and/or organizational strategy by
supporting business leaders to identify, prioritize and build
organizational culture, capabilities, behaviors, structures and
processes.
Standardizes service level expectations for HR related services;
develop and maintain metrics for tracking success.
Assesses and enhances the HR based professional development
programs for university staff and faculty.
Minimum Qualifications A bachelor's degree in human resources
management, organizational development, business administration or
related field, and a minimum of 8 years of progressively
responsible leadership experience in human resources
administration, organizational and employee development and
engagement, employee relations, performance management, benefits,
compensation, strategic human resource planning, and supporting a
diverse workforce, with five or more years' experience being in a
supervisory role.
Preferred Qualifications HR leadership experience in a higher
education institution SPHR, SHRM-SCP, and/or Master's Degree.
