Summary: The Manager of Lean will lead the RAU Lean Program. This
position will have the responsibility to manage, monitor and
support improvement initiatives defined for the whole company.While
the Manager of Lean does not have supervisory responsibility over
the entire Project Teams, this person will have to work through
many others in the organization to succeed. The Manager of Lean
will also guide and train project teams in integrating improvement
methods into their project activities and procedures. The Manager
of Lean will also supervise the Lean Team (Lean Practitioners) and
act as a Lean Practitioner in support of the RAU Lean
Program.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the
following, other duties may be assigned:
- Develop and manage the RAU Lean Program at the direction of the
ET and the Director of Quality and Process Management.
- Facilitate the RAU Lean Steering Committee.
- Lead development of the Lean Training Program, utilizing RECARO
standard Lean training material, adjusted as necessary to fit the
needs of RAU.
- Support the RAU strategic planning process, including the
X-Matrix, the associated projects, and the KPIs.
- Lead and manage Lean initiatives to accomplish measurable
business process improvements.
- Acts as a Coach, Mentor and Teacher for Lean project
teams.
- Teach and coach appropriate continuous improvement tools and
methodologies across the organization.
- Assist leaders and managers with project prioritization and
initiation.
- Use data, statistics, and a structured approach to drive
decisions.
- Teach, coach, and install Shop Floor Management best practices
throughout organization.
- Implement knowledge gained to identify opportunities and drive
process improvements within departments and across the value
stream.
- Rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and
accomplish goals. Perform a variety of tasks. Lead and direct the
work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is
expected.
- Energize, coach and facilitate cross functional teams, while
fostering an environment of trust, collaboration, teamwork and
results.
- Share best practices among other departments and sites
- Leverage data analytics to make strategic and tactical business
decisions
- Must possess strong negotiation skills and the ability to
positively influence
- Strong problem solving skills with the ability to exercise
mature judgment are required.
- Ability to multi-task and operate in a fast-paced, high
pressure environment.
- Ability to take initiative and work with minimum
supervision.Requirements:Education/Experience:
- A Bachelor degree (BS or BBA) is required.
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt is required (a Master Black Belt is
preferred).
- Must have a minimum of 10 year experience in Continuous
Improvement programs
- Must have good knowledge in MS Project, SAP, and a strong
knowledge in Microsoft Office applications with advanced MS Excel
skill level. Knowledge of and experience with Minitab is
preferred.
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt is required.
