passion. PRIMARY PURPOSE Responsible for effectively applying the
principles and practices of health planning and clinic management
to manage, direct and coordinate the health services in their
designated clinics to achieve health center/clinic goals,
organization objectives, and population management improvements.
Responsible for the operational planning process for the clinic to
support Parkland Health's strategic and ambulatory initiatives.
Responsible for effective financial management of assigned areas.
Focuses on operational issues to facilitate patient flow processes
and communicates with physicians, nurses, clinical staff, and
members of the leadership team as necessary. - MINIMUM
SPECIFICATION - Education - Bachelor's Degree Business, Healthcare
Administration, or a related field preferred. - Experience - Must
have eight (8) years or relevant experience or: - With approval and
sponsorship of the Chief Operating Officer, the experience
requirements may be waived for a successful graduate of the
Parkland-administered Administrative Fellowship Program -
Equivalent Education and/or Experience - - May have an equivalent
experience to substitute for the education requirements. - Skills
or Special Abilities - Leadership & Talent Management - Primarily
manages professional-level employees. - Responsible for work and
results of direct reports. - Responsible for coaching, leading, and
mentoring emerging talent and developing internal talent. - -
Organizational Impact - Plans and establishes goals and objectives
for a team of professional staff and/or one or more large teams of
operational or functional staff to accomplish outcomes that have a
direct impact on department results. - Contributes to tactical and
operational, functional, and/or business plans with short-to
mid-term impact on department results (e.g., 1 to 3 years). - May
have budget accountability for areas of responsibility or manage
budget elements. - Must be able to demonstrate
patient-centered/ICARE values and behaviors. - - Knowledge &
Experience - Understands practical management approaches such as
workflow management, quality review, coaching, and performance
management. - Requires advanced knowledge of a specific discipline
and broad knowledge of related job areas. - Must be a critical
thinker, available to logically evaluate all aspects of situations
and problems to arrive at optimal solutions. - - Communication &
Influence - May influence outside of own department, while
balancing internal, divergent objectives to gain the cooperation of
other parties. - Communicates to parties both within and outside of
own department. - Communicates and conducts briefings with
immediate supervisor regarding ongoing operations. -
Responsibilities 1. Responsible for managing daily administrative,
business, and clinical operations for the health center/clinic
population. Organizes personnel to participate in broader
population activities. 2. Develop action plans with triage
leadership to implement a targeted strategy that meets the needs of
the service area population. 3. Seeks to enhance patient
satisfaction in health centers/clinic. Assists with patient
complaints, guiding the situation toward resolution or
directing/escalating to the proper resource for resolution. 4.
Assists with effective facility management to include co-locators
and support services as measured by space planning, cleanliness,
functioning of equipment, and overall environmental safety. Assists
with the timely and effective maintenance of equipment and rooms to
ensure maximum productivity. 5. Analyzes critical operations on an
ongoing basis. Provides weekly, monthly, and annual reports to
evaluate and demonstrate practice performance. Communicates results
to Population Health administration. 6. Responsible for
participating in the ongoing activity with the divisional
performance improvements program. 7. Contributes to and establishes
operational, functional, and business plans that have short to
long-term impact on department and operating results. 8.
Communicates with parties within and outside of own department or
function, which may include external customers or vendors. 9.
Participates in staff selection, assists with training, motivates,
and provides input in staff evaluation. 10. Monitor employee
satisfaction, turnover, employee initiatives, participation in
quality improvement, and other activities to ensure the department
and employee goals are obtained. 11. Ensures the proper patient
processing and billing functions are carried out effectively,
efficiently, and in compliance with all regulatory and billing
requirements, including effective collection of insurance and
patient receivables. Ensures practice productivity and provides
recommendations for improvement. 12. Other duties as assigned. -
