This role requires ahighly motivated and highly effective individual to drive newbusiness. Reporting directly to the REMS VP of Business Development, this rolewill be responsible to create, identify, qualify, pursue and win newbusiness opportunities related to Cobham's MMIC (GaAs, GaN, SiGe)products and capabilities. Candidate should be comfortableconversing in the key areas of this technology domain for Radar, EWand other related markets with a particular emphasis on airborne,shipboard and space applications. In this role, Key Responsibilities will be:Owning and driving all aspects of the BD/Sales pipeline fromopportunity creation/identification to opportunity closure. Conduct regular visits with government labs to understandfuture needs and directions, and participate in technologydevelopment at both the fabrication and applicationlevels. Develop and communicate effective capabilitiespresentations to obtain funding from these entities.Identifying, developing and executing pursuit strategies andcapture plans for new business opportunities.Understanding market dynamics and the competitive environmentto ensure product delivery strategies are positioned to maximizevalue for our customers as well as internal financialgoals. Owning sales order forecasting, response and follow-up torequest for quotes, opportunity pipeline and status. Responsible as the single point of ownership for youropportunities. Driving the business case for opportunities and briefingpursue/no pursue and bid/no bid recommendations to seniormanagement.Leading customer engagements related to new businessopportunities. Evaluating funding sources, competitive environmentassessment, value propositions, win strategy, technologyapplicability, market dynamics, price-to win-analyses anddetermination of win probability.Understanding and translating customer operational needs torequirements and actions that can be addressed by the Cobhaminternal team. Work with MMIC team to create data sheets or marketingcollateral materials necessary to promote these products.Driving Business Development processes and effectivelycommunicating to senior internal and external customers. Contributing to internal business strategy developmentincluding market analysis, product and technology roadmaps andother marketing tasks.Identifying and influencing product and technologyrequirements for current and future product developments.Key Measures & Milestones:Orders funding targets and timing, pipeline growth, customerrelationshipsMinimum Requirements: Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent, plus 10 years' experience inMMIC Technology in a technical discipline, five of whichmust have been in a management position within ProgramManagement, Business Development. Experience writing technical proposal for MMIC (GaAs, GaN, andSiGe) development and production programs.Sound understanding of radar and EW systemsUnderstanding of DoD budgeting and roadmap processes andexperience developing complementary strategic plansExperience with Government Acquisition OfficesExperience with major DoD prime contractors Experience developing and executing capture plans for specificbusiness opportunitiesExperience leading successful structured new program pursuitsExperience with Radar, communications and/or ElectronicWarfare systemsDeep understanding of customer needs and developingrequirements and strategies for development of opportunities Exceptionally strong interpersonal and communication skillsStrong interoperability skills in dynamic environments, a teamplayerWillingness to travel -35-50%Active Secret security clearance or previously held Secretsecurity clearance with ability to re-activate Desired Qualifications:Experience selling at mid-tier and component level - RFsystems, IMA, and LRU Established relationships with DoD and defense contractorcustomersMultilingual a plusLocal to Richardson, TX; Forsyth, MO; or San Diego, CA; orability to relocate Understanding of MMIC (GaAs, GaN, SiGe) insertion intoRadars, Communications and/or Electronic Warfare marketincluding current and projected requirements and programs Advanced degree in a technical field or businessadministration or managementDemonstrate Cobham's SPIRIT values (Safety/Security,Performance, Innovation, Relationships, Integrity, Trust) Demonstrated competency in Cobham's functional competenciesfor BD/Sales and Program ManagementKey Leadership Competencies:An authentic and believable leader who communicates withconviction and humility and is able to engender trust throughoutthe organization.A natural communicator and influencer, using such strengths inoften difficult and complex situations.Strong emotional intelligence.Enthusiasm for building high-performing teams.
