Thank you.Outstanding opportunity with an exceptional organization providing caring and compassionate hospice services.HIGHLY COMPETITIVE BASE SALARY + 30% BONUS Job Summary:The Hospice Executive Director is responsible for the overall direction of the hospice operations & clinical services. The ED / DCS establishes, implements, and evaluates goals and objectives for hospice services that meet and promote the standards of quality and contribute to the total organization and philosophy. The ED / DCS is responsible for implementing and supervising the administrative policies of the agency and administratively supervising the provision of all services including staffing, financial management, interaction with patients and families, community relations, and regulatory compliance. He/she is responsible for the leadership, development, management, and operation of the organization according to applicable laws and regulations Essential Functions / Responsibilities:The hospice Executive Director is at a minimum responsible for the following functions, either directly or through delegation to qualified staff: Organize and direct the agencys ongoing operations.Provide leadership and oversight for the growth and overall financial performance of the program.Has authority for the management of the business affairs and overall operation of the Hospice.Establish internal controls to effectively and efficiently operate the organization including the following: Establishing and maintaining information and support systems, Recruiting and retaining staff, Conserving physical and financial assets; monitoring operations for implementation of operational and strategic plans.Oversee the development and implementation of the programs Quality Assurance activities.Ensure that the Hospice is in compliance with all applicable Federal, State and Local laws.Ensure the completion, maintenance, and submission of all required reports and records to Federal, State and Local regulatory departments.Operate the agency in accordance with federal and state, professional practice acts, standards and regulations, maintaining staff and agency licenses, certification and accreditation as required.Ensure the Hospice offers a coordinated plan of care for all patients/families while the Hospice maintains overall management of the care.Projects hospice philosophy to staff, patients, families, and community at large.Provide orientation and ongoing education to staff according to state/federal requirements.Supervise and oversee staffing to ensure the availability of services; ongoing assessment of community needs; planning, developing, administering, and evaluating agency programs.Ensure that the documentation of all support services provided is accurate and timely.Communicate effectively with patients and families to provide satisfaction with services.Maintain ongoing liaison with the governing body, staff members and the community.Employ qualified personnel who meet the requirements of written job descriptions of the Hospice.Ensure that orientation of new staff is provided and regularly scheduled in-service education programs, and opportunities for continuing education for the staff covers the physical, emotional, spiritual and social needs of hospice patients and their families during the final stages of illness and during dying and bereavement.Familiarize all employees, as well as contractual providers, with the philosophy, goals, policies and procedures of the Hospice.Oversee the maintenance of appropriate personnel records, administrative records and all policies and procedures of the Hospice.Designate in writing the qualified staff member to act in the absence of the administrator. Qualifications / Required Experience: Must be a License Registered Nurse in the stateMinimum five years (5) of recent hospice management/leadership experience required.Minimum eight years (8) experience in a hospice care organization requiredMust meet the regulations and requirements of the State in which the program(s) provides services.Excellent organizational and time management skills: Start up mentality / experience / approachHas excellent observation, verbal, and written communication skillsExperience at developing external professional relationships regarding survey work, accreditation and in the area of business development.Experience developing hospice business plans or been part of the process developing fiscal year business/operational plans and execution strategies.Demonstrated ability to supervise and direct professional and administrative personnelLeadership qualities demonstrated in past achievements and/or previous work experienceMust have proven, verifiable performance, and job stabilityDemonstrated commitment to Hospices philosophy of care, values, mission statement and organizational culture.Demonstrated success in building teams through strong people management skills and the ability to networkMust be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state requirements and is in good working order
