Staffed with UT Southwestern faculty physicians, the Montyand Tex
Moncrief Medical Center at Fort Worth has more than 106,500 square

Experience and Education
Graduate of an accredited Licensed Vocational Nurse program from
approvedschool of nursing, licensure as LVN by Board of Nurse
Examiners for State ofTexas.
One (1) year experience in clinical setting preferred. Current
Basic LifeSupport (BLS) certification through a course accredited
by the American HeartAssociation (AHA) is required.
Administers personaland therapeutic measures to patients as
directed by physicians and/ornurses.
Schedules patients' appointments, tests, and procedures via on line
computersystem or telephone, and reinforces physician instructions
in person andthrough telephone contact. Obtains medical history
from patients throughstructured interviews in accordance with
Assists in care of patients by preparing exam rooms for patient
care,facilitating use of diagnostic equipment, and assuring
availability of neededpatient information, such as reports of
diagnostic exams and medicalrecords.
Prepares and administers medications as prescribed by the
physician. May startand administer intravenous fluids and
medications after successful completionof approved UT Southwestern
IV course and skills verification with theexception of intravenous
Collects information and data that can assist the physician or
Registered Nursein triaging patient phone calls following
departmental protocols and documentsactions in patients' electronic
Takes, records, and reports patient vital signs using medical
equipment;performs procedures of low complexity such as serial

Documents patient care interventions and education in medical
records; ensuresappropriate patient consent forms and

Maintains adequate stock of supplies on carts and in patient exam
