If selected, please contact the facility EDRP Coordinator.Learn more about this agencyResponsibilitiesFORT WORTH has only PCMHI position available.All other positions including PCMHI are available in DALLAS.Major duties and responsibilities include:* Consultation Liaison Psychiatrist: Core responsibilities include providing comprehensive psychiatric consultation to inpatient medical units and the Emergency Department. The incumbent will serve as a member of a multidisciplinary mental health team and should be competent in collaborating with colleagues of other specialties. ABPN board certification is required for this position as the incumbent will be clinically supervising UT Southwestern Medical Center trainees.* Schedule: Compressed schedule: typically four, 10 hour shifts per week.* Preferred experience: Buprenorphine Certification is highly encouraged in order to meet the duties required for this position, as well as experience with methadone and clozapine prescribing. Consult Liaison fellowship and experience preferred.* General Psychiatrist: Core responsibilities include providing comprehensive psychiatric medical care (assessment, consultation, treatment) to patients on the Mental Health Diamond Team. He/she should be competent in the management of individuals with a broad range of clinical problems, including but not limited to post-traumatic stress disorder, mood, anxiety and psychotic disorders, substance use disorders and psychiatric disorders in the elderly Veteran population. He/she may provide clinical supervision for health care professionals such as Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, and Clinical Pharmacy Specialists.* Schedule: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm with light on-call responsibilities. Options may be available for flexible work tours.* Preferred experience: Buprenorphine Certification is highly preferred in order to meet the duties required for this position.* Addiction Psychiatrist: Core responsibilities include providing comprehensive psychiatric medical care (assessment, consultation, treatment) to patients in the Dallas Mental Health Gold Team, which is an outpatient clinic with a focus on providing care to Veterans with addictions and substance use disorders. Incumbent is encouraged to be involved in medical student, psychiatry resident and addiction psychiatry fellow education. He/she may provide clinical supervision for health care professionals such as Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants. Treatment provided occurs in both residential and outpatient levels of care through an outpatient clinic in Dallas (main campus), an outpatient opioid replacement program, a Substance Abuse Residential Rehabilitation Program (SARRTP) and an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP).* Schedule:8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday with light on-call responsibilities* Preferred experience: Buprenorphine Certification is required in the performance of this position. Addiction fellowship and experience preferred.* Inpatient Psychiatrist: Core responsibilities include providing comprehensive psychiatric medical care (assessment, treatment) to patients on the Mental Health Inpatient Unit. He/she should be competent in the management of individuals with a broad range of acute clinical problems, including but not limited to post-traumatic stress disorder, mood, anxiety and psychotic disorders, substance use disorders and psychiatric disorders in the elderly Veteran population.* Schedule: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm with intermittent weekend rounds. Options may be available for flexible work tours.* Preferred experience: Buprenorphine Certification is highly preferred in order to meet the duties required for this position. ECT performance is required for this position.* Primary Care Mental Health Integration Psychiatrist: Core responsibilities include providing integrated mental health care in primary care clinic settings through collaboration with primary care physicians and primary care nurses. Incumbent must be skilled in general outpatient psychiatry, including diagnostic evaluations, pharmacotherapy and psychotherapy. He/she should be competent in the management of individuals with a broad range of clinical problems, including but not limited to post-traumatic stress disorder, mood, anxiety and psychotic disorders, substance use disorders and psychiatric disorders in the elderly Veteran population. He/she may provide clinical supervision for health care professionals such as Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, and Clinical Pharmacy Specialists.* Schedule: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm with light on-call responsibilities. Staff physicians may also include attendings who train physician residents assigned in facilities with residency training programs, and consultants who are capable of giving authoritative views and opinions on subjects in their field of medicine.Basic Requirements:* United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.* Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed.* Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.* Completion of residency training, or its equivalent, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification.* Proficiency in spoken and written English.* Preferred: Board Certified or Board Eligible PsychiatristPreferred Experience:* Buprenorphine Certification* Board Certification in PsychiatryReference: VA Regulations, specifically VA Handbook 5005, Part II, Appendix G-2 Physician Qualification Standard.
