Under the direct supervision of the Director of PACU and the Charge Nurse this RN is responsible for carrying out the patient intake process, obtaining required medical clearance information, and performing necessary assessments to determine if the patient is a candidate for surgery.Registered Nurse Pre Anethesia Testing for FT Days--Up to $30,000 Sign On Bonus (First half paid on first paycheck and second half paid on 1 year anniversary)What We Are Looking ForLake Granbury Medical Center's--PAT Department--is now hiring a full-time Registered Nurse for Pre Anethesia Testing to work in our thriving 73 bed acute care hospital. RN is responsible--for carrying out the patient intake process, obtaining required medical clearance information, and performing necessary assessments to determine if the patient is a candidate for surgery at--Lake Granbury Medical Center and Ambulatory Surgery Center.What You Will DoThe PAT RN is responsible for implementing all of the following:Essential Functions Statement(s)1. Manage the patient intake process and perform assessment to obtain medical history2. Determine patient needs for pre-admission testing3. Knowledge of anesthetic agents and narcotics as necessary to coordinate all aspects of nursing care and teaching between patients, families and surgical team to achieve desired outcomes4. Serve as liaison between patients and other healthcare providers to obtain patient medical clearance as necessary or when required5. Evaluate, plan, implement, and document care, observations, and medical history6. Knowledge of Perioperative and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) nursing procedures to assist in these areas as needed7. Regular and predictable attendance8. Ability to work in a cooperative manner with others9. Perform other duties as assignedRequired skills:

• Strong knowledgebase relative to surgery procedures and management of the surgical patient
• Ability to care for patients from pediatric to geriatrics
• Excellent teaching skillsMinimum Requirements:
  • Associate's degree from an accredited school of nursing
  • Currently certified as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas
  • Current BCLS
  • Must obtain ACLS, PALS, and NIH stroke certification within 3 months of hire datePreferred Requirements:
    • Bachelor's degree in Nursing
    • Previous PAT experienceWorking Hours:
