Registered NurseRegistered Nurse (RN) Surgical Unit

Sign-On for Eligible New Hires
Work location: Texas Health Fort Worth, 1301 Pennsylvania Ave, Fort
Worth, TX 76104
Work hours: Full Time Days (7P-7A) for 36 hrs/week. Weekend and
holiday requirements
Work environment: Post surgical unit-hip fractures, head injuries,
chest tubes, trachs, pelvic and femur fractures. This is a great

Here's What You Need
* Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program
* BSN preferred
* One-year experience as a clinical nurse, or completion of an RN
residency program.
* One year of Emergency experience strongly preferred
* RN must practice within the regulations of the Texas Nurse
Practice Act, serve as a role model, intra/interdisciplinary
collaborator and coordinator for quality patient care
What You Will Do
Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
* Assesses the patient
* Plans the care of the patient
* Intervenes as appropriate
* Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
* Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into
patient care.
* Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need
for information
* Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital,
and while expediting out of hospital transfers.

Qualifications
* Associates Degree in Nursing (required)
* BSN preferred
* Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas
Board of Nursing upon hire (required)
* Current BLS (required) - expiration date greater than 3 months
preferred.
* CPI training within 60 days of hire (required)
* One (1) year experience as a clinical nurse, or completion of an
RN residency program (required)
In addition to the required qualifications, a successful RN will
have
* 2+ years experience as an Med/surg RN including charge /preceptor
skills (preferred)
* Current RN experience in Tele/PCU or Trauma (preferred)
* NICHE -Nurses Improving Care for Healthsystem Elders
(preferred)
