Registered Nurse RN Medical PCU - Transition opportunity - Fort Worth, TXRegistered Nurse (RN) - Medical PCU - Full-time, 7P - Transition opportunity - Sign on Bonus for eligible New Hires! We are growing!! High acuity Medical PCU department is looking for top skilled nurses.-- Is that you? Work location: Texas Health Fort Worth, 1304 Pennsylvania Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76104 Work hours: Full-time, 36 hours weekly, 3-12 hours shifts, 7:00 pm - 7:00 am $15K Sign-on bonus for eligible RN's (eligible upon hire with a signed 2-year retention agreement) Department highlights:

  • 28-bed Medical PCU
  • Intermediate level of care to a wide variety of medical patients at a 3:1 patient to nurse ratio.
  • This patient population requiring specialized monitoring and interventions, includes patient diagnosis such as: diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), respiratory compromised patients that require specialized equipment including continuous respiratory interventions, home ventilation systems, and tracheostomy care, multi-system organ failure, respiratory distress, sepsis, hematology, GI Bleeds, Renal/Liver Failure, Acid-Base and Electrolyte Imbalances, and cardiac abnormalities.--
  • Medication management includes continuous and titratable IV medications to support the intermediate care population.

  • Robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and engaged leadership team Here's What You Need
    • Diploma-- or Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
    • Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire
    • BCLS - prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
    • ACLS - within 90 days of hire required
    • CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training - within 60 days of hire
    • 1-year experience as a clinical nurse or completion of an RN residency program required
    • PCU/Telemetry experience preferred-----willing to train experienced RN with no current PCU/Tele experience
    • RN must practice within the regulations of the Texas Nurse Practice Act, serve as a role model, intra/interdisciplinary collaborator and coordinator for quality patient care
    • The professional nurse exhibits understanding of basic human needs.
    • The professional nurse demonstrates recognition and understanding of patient's affiliations In addition to the required qualifications, a successful RN will
      • demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
      • maintain a positive, customer-focused attitude toward patients
      • possess a strong work ethic and always display a high level of professionalism
