Description:Note: This position is located in our Weatherford
Clinic and is on a PRN/Part-time basis. We are looking for someone
who is willing and able to supervise SLP-A and/or an SLP Intern.
This Speech Language Pathologist position works under the
supervision of the Discipline Lead, and in the absence of a lead,
the Clinical Director. The team member should be dedicated and
passionate about the therapy they provide, the families they serve,
and looking for an opportunity to grow.Responsibilities
- The Speech Language Pathologist provides speech therapy
services to patients and related activities in accordance with best
practice/evidence-based practice guidelines
- The Speech Language Pathologist completes evaluations and
reassessments in accordance with clinic guidelines in a timely
manner
- Develops an individualized plan of care based upon
evaluation/reassessment findings according to company and best
practice guidelines
- Performs patient care and related activities within the scope
of their training and responsibilities, demonstrating basic
clinical competencies
- The Speech Language Pathologist communicates effectively with
patient/family/therapists/physicians/administrative staff and other
stakeholders to promote quality services
- Provides instruction/education to families/caregivers
- Assesses patient and family needs regarding their level of
understanding, ability to assimilate information and the most
desirable method of speech therapy
- The Speech Language Pathologist provides accurate and thorough
information consistently to families concerning their participation
in the patient's continuity of care
- The Speech Language Pathologist documents patient information
in Electronic Medical Record according to office policies
- The Speech Language Pathologist performs other essential
functions as needed
- Attends health, safety and training in-services and other
obligatory activities
- The Speech Language Pathologist maintains a current awareness
and participates in office quality
activitiesRequirements:REQUIREMENTS:
- The Speech Language Pathologist will write thorough and
defensible evaluations and SOAP/daily notes in a timely manner
- The Speech Language Pathologist will engage in evidence based
practiceQualifications
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Current Texas state license to practice Speech Therapy
- Two years pediatric clinical experience preferred, although a
strong new grad will be considered.
- The Speech Language Pathologist must be articulate, courteous,
and supportive in dealing with clinical and administrative
colleagues, patients and parents with ability to honor
confidentiality
- The Speech Language Pathologist must demonstrate excellent
verbal and written communication skills
