Registered Nurse RN Emergency DepartmentRegistered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Department - Full-time, 5P - MAGNET, Level I Trauma Center - Sign on Bonus for Eligible New Hires

Fast-paced, high volume ED department is looking for top skilled nurses. Is that you?

Work location: Texas Health Fort Worth, 1304 Pennsylvania Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76104

Work hours: Full-time, 36 hours weekly, 3-12 hours shifts, 5:00 pm - 5:00 am

Sign-on bonus for eligible RN's (eligible upon hire with a signed 2-year retention agreement)

Department Highlights

* 100-bed Marion Emergency Care, 75,000 square foot Level I Trauma center
* For minor care needs, the ED offers a Quick Care area designed to expedite care and patient experience. Those requiring more extensive workups will be taken to one of the diagnostic rooms.
* Patients with critical injuries or illnesses are treated in one of 22 Emergent Care rooms, including three resuscitation rooms for the most severe trauma cases.
* ER has a dedicated area for comprehensive, compassionate care of sexual assault victims.

Here's what you need

* Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
* CLIAFE - Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required
* Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire required
* BCLS - prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
* ACLS - within 90 days required
* PALS - within 90 days required
* TNCC or ATCN - within 12 months of hire required
* CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training - within 60 days of hire
* 1-year experience as a clinical nurse or completion of an RN residency program required
* Current ED, ICU/PCU and/or Tele and Med/Surg experience strongly preferred
* RN must practice within the regulations of the Texas Nurse Practice Act, serve as a role model, intra/interdisciplinary collaborator and coordinator for quality patient care
* The professional nurse exhibits understanding of basic human needs.
* The professional nurse demonstrates recognition and understanding of patient's affiliations

In addition to the required qualifications, a successful RN will

* demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
* maintain a positive, customer-focused attitude toward patients
* possess a strong work ethic and always display a high level of professionalism
* have basic computer skills using medical management application systems

What You Will Do

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process

* assesses the patient
* plans the care of the patient
* intervenes as appropriate
* evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
* Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
* Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
* Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers
