Job Summary and Qualifications As part of the Elite Endoscopy / GI Nursing Float Pool, the RN is responsible for assessing the operative nursing care needs of patients, planning interventions and evaluating outcomes of care. The RN is responsible for providing care, which is appropriate for age specific (pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics), the developmental and safety needs, the planned procedure, and the anesthetic agent used. The RN will communicate and educate the patient and/or their family members and/or significant others regarding events pertinent to their care. The RN also anticipates and plans for the needs of the surgical team and coordinates the care provided in the endoscopy room while maintaining an aseptic and safe environment. What You Will Do In This Role:
  • You will perform comprehensive nursing assessments regarding the health status of the patient, following standards of care and disease specific protocols.
  • You will plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.
  • You will provide direct nursing care and supervise non-licensed nursing staff within the RN's scope of practice and in accordance with established policies.
  • You will provide education and emotional support appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstance and incorporate patient / family teaching into all aspects of nursing practice.
  • You will be a resource for our Medical City hospitals in the West Pod: Alliance, Arlington, Fort Worth, Las Colinas, North Hills, and Weatherford.
  • You will be at your assigned hospital for a duration of 12 weeks at a time. What qualifications you will need:
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
    • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
    • Registered Nurse
    • Associate Degree, or Bachelors Degree must be obtained within 2 years of employment start date
    • Minimum 18 months experience within an acute care hospital with a minimum one year in a specialty area.
