This position will carry a modified caseload as an Inpatient Case Manager and/or UR II nurse.Typical Duties:* Participates in the hiring, orienting, training and performance reviews.* Acts as a subject matter expert in the daily activities of the assigned employees providing guidance and direction as needed.* Assists in monitoring staff activity and productivity; assists with staff assignments to ensure coverage of all areas.* Participates in the development, refinement and implementation of Care Management programs, policies and procedures.* Assist in coordinating ongoing staff education and training regarding current and new programs and processes.* Acts as a resource and subject matter expert in complying with performance standards for each key process; assists in educating on performance reports and educating on patterns of variance and shares strategies for improvement.* Assists in developing and initiating cost savings strategies to decrease resource utilization; participates in efforts to develop collaborative and integrated work processes.* Serves as a resource to healthcare team regarding inpatient care coordination issues, utilization review and denial management* Ensures compliance with state, federal, regulatory and payor requirements.* Assists with developing and implementation of appropriate metrics for monitoring compliance with requirements.* Assists in adhering to the department budget to meet or exceed budgetary expectations.* Performs other related job duties as assigned.Qualifications:Required Education and Experience:* Associates Degree in Nursing from an accredited School of Nursing.* 2 plus years of experience in Acute Care Case Management, Care Management or Utilization Management.Preferred Education and Experience:* Bachelors Degree in Nursing from an accredited University.* 2 plus years of supervisory experience.Required Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training:* Licensed Registered Nurse through the Texas State Board of Examiners.Preferred Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training:* Case Management Certification (ACM)* 1 plus years of experience in using InterQual or Milliman criteria experienceLocation Address:1500 S.
