You will play a critical role in shaping Hotels.com's strategy, one of the largest brands in the Expedia portfolio with a fiercely loyal customer base. You will report to the Hotels.com Head of Strategy.As an individual contributor, you will develop strategic direction, monitor, synthesize, and optimize financial performance. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to set revenue targets and align with our global business goals and objectives.In this role, you will:

  • Strategy Development: Define & operationalize key short, medium, and long-term UBT strategic initiatives to improve consumer performance and competitive positioning, working with senior executives.
  • Evaluate strategic UBT opportunities and develop perspectives on implications and actions for travelers.
  • Monitor the UBT ecosystem to identify market trends.
  • Identify business/value driver opportunities and risks.
  • Assess strategic options and work with stakeholders to develop business cases.
  • Communicate findings to senior stakeholders and build buy-in.
  • Own the end-to-end process from inception to market activation of prioritized UBT initiatives.
  • Financial Planning: Collaborate with finance on annual financial planning, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, ensuring alignment with brand needs.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Use analytics to inform business decisions.
  • Performance Metrics: Regularly evaluate performance against targets and KPIs.
  • Global Alignment: Ensure consistency and alignment across markets.Experience and qualifications:
    • 10+ years of experience in strategy and developing new businesses/products in (unmanaged) business traveler and/or SMB space.
    • Experience developing business strategies.
    • Ability to think long-term, anticipate trends, and adapt to changing landscapes.
    • Identify and evaluate market opportunities and risks.
    • Develop business cases in ambiguous, fast-paced environments.
    • Establish cross-functional plans to execute strategies.
    • Experience launching new businesses or products (e.g., startups, new business/product launches).
    • Own the process from inception to market activation.
    • Collaborate with teams like Marketing, Product, Analytics, Finance.
    • Proven ability to turn strategy into results and drive growth.
    • Experience in (unmanaged) business traveler and/or SMB space.The total cash range for this position in New York is $212,500 to $297,500. Employees can potentially earn up to $340,000 based on performance.Starting pay varies based on location, skills, and experience.
