Job Description
The Payroll and Benefits Coordinator handles all payroll related functions of the organization, as well as assists the Benefits Administrator in various benefits processes and procedures. This includes processing payroll, taxation forms and benefits, as well as maintaining employee data, handling payroll and benefit questions and completing any other tasks necessary for monitoring and overseeing a company's payroll process.Summary of Essential Job Duties:

  • Data entry and compiling of payroll, including W2 forms, benefits information, direct deposit, tax filing documents
  • Maintain employee records to include but not limited to new client setups
  • Input of all employee data and records; i.e. new hires, employee changes voluntary deductions in the payroll system
  • Processing of manual checks such as terminations and discrepancies
  • Prepare and process garnishments
  • Calculate bonuses when needed
  • Handling of all termination's records and processing of final payroll checks and unemployment information
  • Processing of bi-weekly and semimonthly payroll for all divisions
  • Complete notices for municipalities tax and various employment requests
  • Knowledge of wage and hour laws
  • Oversight of Payroll Department email box
  • Oversight of departments time punches and time off notices (PTO- Paid Time Off) through payroll system
  • Completing reconciliation of month and year end close for Payroll
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies, relevant industry regulations, ta and deductions laws
  • Preparing payroll reports for management and auditing purposes
  • Reviewing computed wages to ensure accuracy
  • Preparing statements reflecting earnings, taxes, and deductions
  • Assisting with benefit enrollments and Associate questions
  • Supporting Company Leave Management processes
  • Additional duties as needed

    • 1 or more years of Payroll experience
    • Good working knowledge of accounting practices and tax laws
    • Ability to work autonomously
    • Strong Customer Service skill set
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access and Word, payroll systems and database software
    • 10-key by touch
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
    • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Ability to work cross divisionally
    • Experience working within a HRIS System, i.e. Paycom, Paycor, Fidelity, People Soft, ADP, etc.
    • Must have worked with a payroll size greater than 200 employees, including multi- state payrollsEducation, Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
      • High School Diploma or equivalent
      • Degree in Accounting B.S., Finance B.S., Business B.S. or related field; preferred but not required
      • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred, but not required#lucidhigh
