Job Description:
Job Description Overview The Human Resource Generalist is
integral to carrying out a wide range of functions within the HR
Department. The primary responsibilities of this role will be
facilitating recruitment, basic employee relations, engagement
activities, processing HR documentation, HR related reporting, and
other general HR functions. Responsibilities Serve as the first
level of contact for most employee questions in relation to
policies, benefits, pay, procedures, garnishments, union, and other
HR related topics. Escalate employee questions or concerns as
needed. Assist with the hiring process from beginning to end. This
includes advertising, posting internally, updating the open
positions binders, reviewing resumes, screenings, coordinating
interviews, processing new hire paperwork, on boarding, and
conducting new hire benefits orientation. Schedule and conduct
investigation and exit interviews. Assist in implementing HR
department goals, objectives, and various HR policies, procedures,
laws, standards, and government regulations. Coordinate staffing
needs with temp agencies and the leadership team. plan and manage
recruitment and selection of staff plan and conduct new employee
orientation identify and manage training and development needs for
employees develop and implement human resources policies and
procedures Performs regular audits of license/certification
expirations through the license tracking system. Ensures proper
notifications and reminders of upcoming expirations are sent to
Associates per defined processes and timelines. Identifies
Associates that are near to or have reached the expiration of the
required license/certification period Reports expirations to the
appropriate leader and Human Resources. Assists HR Shared Services
team with correcting license/certification information in HR system
and works any other HR cases related to license/certification.
Performs bi-weekly audits of Associate demographics within HR
system required for Affirmative Action and Equal Employment
Opportunity reporting. Contacts regional HR or leadership to obtain
correct information and enters into HR system. Runs monthly reports
for Affirmative Action Plan data including, but not limited to,
Associate demographics, applicant logs, hiring, promotions,
transfers and terminations. Analyzes information to ensure
completeness and accuracy. Collects all Affirmative Action data at
the end of each fiscal year and submits to external consultant
responsible for maintaining Affirmative Action Plans. Serves as
liaison to consultant to address any questions or inconsistencies
in reporting. administer HR policies and procedures administer
compensation and benefits ensure compensation and benefits are in
line with company policies and legislation benchmark compensation
and benefits support annual salary review implement and monitor
performance management system handle employee complaints,
grievances and disputes administer employee discipline processes
conduct exit interviews review and update employee rules and
regulations maintain the human resource information system and
employee database coordinate employee safety, welfare and wellness
maintain knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting
regulations affecting HR functions Facilitate the employees in
learning the guard Training Program. Maintain personnel files and
confidential documents within legal compliance standards. Create
and maintain HR related reports. This includes but not limited to
labor reports, time and attendance reports, Evacuation Sheets,
payroll reporting, etc. Maintain the Employee List workbook
accurately and efficiently. Exemplifies core values and looks to
the best interest of the Company. May be assigned projects and/or
other duties outside of normal job functions to meet the needs and
demands of the business. Must support business needs and mission.
Qualifications Preferred Bachelor---s degree in Human Resources or
equivalent combination of education and experience SHRP
Certificates preferred. Minimum of five years progressive HR
experience, including knowledge of federal and state laws and
regulations Experience with timekeeping and third party payroll
(Winteam, Ehub) Strong computer skills, including proficiency with
Microsoft Office High level of interpersonal and communication
skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and
documentation Attention to detail and ability to establish
priorities and meet deadlines Excellent spelling, grammar, and
written communication skills Leadership skills and strong business
and professional acumen Must have a high sense of urgency and
customer service focus Working knowledge of applicable local laws
and regulations related to the HR function Ability to analyze HR
processes and make practical recommendations Must be able to cope
with change and be flexible with shifting priorities generalist
