POSITION TITLE: Human Resource Generalist SUPERVISOR: Director of Human ResourcesPOSITION PURPOSE:The Human Resource Generalist will run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Directs and monitors all functions of the Human Resources Department.Primary duties: Assists in maintaining and updating HRIS and EWS systems. Prepares and processes Lena Pope and Chapel Hill Academy payroll twice a month. Works with Directors on all HR matters, including HRIS and EWS systems. Manages wellness committee, staff training, health and safety, and communications as needed Initiates or prepares correspondence, special reports and tabulations according to specific directions. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations including liability and compensation. Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility versification. Assists with on-boarding processes and employee recognition programs. Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; performance management and training and development. Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff. Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance. Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law. Performs other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS: 1) Educational/Certification: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required. _ PHR or SHRM-CP Certification required _ 2) Required Knowledge: Human Services and Non-Profit preferred. 3) Experience Preferred: Minimum of 2 years' experience in human resource management with not-for-profit and/or governmental organization. 4) Skills/Abilities : Excellent communication and human relations skills; ability to organize, coordinate, and direct a variety of activities; strong oral and written communication skills; possess good judgment and decision-making skills; ability to use technical equipment such as cellphone and personal computer for on-going communication; provide excellent leadership and human relation abilities; ability to think quickly and clearly during stressful times; ability to communicate clearly and coordinate resources while experiencing high stress; ability to apply logical thinking to a wide range of issues 5) Other Requirements - Must have a driving record which is within the guidelines of the insurance underwriter. Must not have been charged with or convicted of a criminal offense that would disable the employment by failing to meet minimum standards as set by the Licensing Branch of the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services .
