Position Summary:The Technical Support Engineer will serve as the
"Project Engineer for Product Support functions. This person will
be responsible for coordinating all post production activities with
the Technical Support Program Manager and communicate all field
issues back to RECARO internally. The Technical Support Engineer
will be responsible for coordinating internal support to achieve
optimum satisfaction to meet customer's expectations with regards
to engineering, and field modification support.Essential Duties and
Responsibilities include the following, other duties may be
assigned:Provide onsite support for customer training, accompanied
by Technical Support Program Manager.Provide onsite technical
support to customer's maintenance and engineering group. Occasional
trouble shooting and product improvement suggestions will be
essential.Assists in the planning, scheduling and tracking of
Engineering tasks; provides detailed report to Technical Support
Program Management and Technical Support Management under the
Supervision of Lead Technical Support Engineer.Efficiently
coordinate technical resolutions for field issues, maintenance
issues, and Engineering issues with all internal responsible
departments. Provide technical support to Service Coordinators to
ensure optimum delivery performance and support to RECARO's
customers.Provide technical support to RECARO's 145 Repair
StationInitiate/implement design changes in PLM system Coordinate
product improvements and new projects with the Technical Support
Program Manager to ensure on-time delivery of product.Act as the
liaison between the Technical Support Program Manager and Core
Engineering for issue resolution.Participates in telecoms and
meetings with overseas based Engineers and Program Management to
collaborate and coordinate Engineering issues, including design
changes and requests from customers.Assists in the writing of
Service Bulletins pertaining to modification of fielded seats; and
in the coordination of service bulletin approval with airworthiness
authorities.Supports Purchasing and Spares by providing bills of
materials and documentation to support sourcing of components.
Requirements:
Education/Experience:Bachelor's Degree required in Aeronautical or
Mechanical Engineering field; or equivalent combination of
education and experience. Aviation maintenance and mechanical
engineering experience is highly desired.SAP and Siemens Teamcenter
experience is highly desirable.Basic understanding of aircraft seat
parts and some familiarity with FAA rules and regulationsAbility to
interpret Engineering Drawings, Schematics, BOMs, and CMMs are
essential to perform duties.Strong negotiating skills is essential
to be successful in this position.Strong multi-tasking skills;
ability to perform well under pressure in a fast pace environment.
Strong problem solving skills are required, along with the ability
to make decisions quickly with limited information. Work
effectively as a team member and/or team leader.Multicultural
background is a plus.Computer Skills:Working knowledge with a PC
(Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) is required. SAP and Siemens
Teamcenter experience is highly desirable.Experience in the use of
Catia V5 is highly desirable.Travel Requirements:Travel is not a
requirement, however occasional travel may be requested for onsite
trainings or onsite seat modifications/inspections. (Domestic and
