scale. As Schwab continues to expand its cloud-based data and
analytics ecosystem, this role plays a critical part in building
the foundational data sourcing capabilities that support firmwide
analytics, AI/ML, and next generation data products. In this role,
you will lead the engineering of cloud native data sourcing
platforms that enable governed, scalable ingestion of enterprise
data used by thousands of analysts, data scientists, and
applications. You’ll partner closely with technology, data,
security, and risk teams to deliver resilient, compliant solutions
in a highly regulated environment—while helping shape the future of
Schwab’s cloud data platforms. Key Responsibilities Cloud Data
Sourcing Engineering and Strategy o Drive the engineering of 3–5
cloud native applications that facilitate large scale ingestion of
data across diverse patterns, technologies, and use cases. o Ensure
high availability, performance, and operational excellence of
centralized data sourcing platforms through strong SRE practices,
incident management, capacity planning, and continuous improvement.
o Lead modernization of cloud native data applications and services
by incorporating automation, standardization, and reusable design
patterns. o Partner with security, risk, and compliance teams to
ensure data access and transfer services meet regulatory
requirements, enforce access controls, and align with enterprise
governance standards. o Collaborate with application teams,
enterprise data producers and consumers, and external vendors to
align roadmaps, manage dependencies, and deliver cohesive sourcing
capabilities. Operational Excellence o Establish and maintain
robust monitoring, alerting, and operational metrics to proactively
identify issues and improve platform stability and user experience.
o Lead responses to production incidents and operational risks,
including root cause analysis, remediation, and preventative
controls. o Define, test, and continuously improve disaster
recovery and resilience strategies for mission critical data
platforms and services. Collaboration and Influence o Build strong
partnerships with internal stakeholders and external vendors to
align platform development with broader organizational goals. o
Advocate for technological advancements that drive business value
and improve platform capabilities. o Analyze application operations
to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies, implementing solutions
that enhance service delivery and user satisfaction. What you have
Required Qualifications o Proficiency in cloud native application
development using technologies such as Docker containers, Python,
and cloud SDKs. o Experience with major cloud platforms, including
AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud, with hands on expertise in services
such as Cloud Storage, Composer, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud
Functions, Cloud Build, Cloud Run, and Cloud Scheduler. o Strong
understanding of security protocols, identity and access management
(IAM), and compliance frameworks within the financial services
industry. o Designs advanced support processes and mentors peers to
optimize functionality and security. o Establishes robust processes
to create, secure, and monitor data pipelines and data stores. o
Designs efficient processes to resolve incidents and minimize
downtime. o Develops quality assurance processes that confirm
compliance and ensure operational reliability. o Streamlines
requirement analysis and validation to enhance efficiency. o
Designs security processes that strengthen regulatory compliance. o
Enhances processes that merge predictive and adaptive software
design techniques. o Designs efficient processes that ensure
quality and resolve issues in software components. o Optimizes
processes for secure, compliant, and reliable software releases. o
Optimizes design processes by integrating predictive or adaptive
methods with cloud principles. Preferred Qualifications o
