Reports to: Executive Director – Safety & Security
Pay Grade: 304
Duty Days: 245
Salary Range: $30,556 - $37,534
Assists in providing safe, crime free schools. Monitors alarms
at all schools; dispatches city police and night security services
to schools as intrusions occur.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Dispatches security patrol to
alarms at schools.
Performs radio communications; provides information relative to
Controls electronic doors and gates at all service center
buildings and the main administration building; checks
codes/identification and check out keys.
Monitors security equipment, computers, phones, and video
monitors; conveys information to proper personnel.
Works closely with security service ensuring guards are
dispatched where needed.
Compiles daily reports of break-ins, vandalism, and

Maintains daily contact with audio-visual to report alarms not

reports situation immediately to supervisor.

Physical & Mental Demands, Work Hazards Tools/Equipment
Used: Standard office equipment, including computer and
peripherals; standard security equipment, including two-way radio,
video monitors, and electronic doors/gates .
Posture: Prolonged sitting and standing; occasional stooping,
squatting, kneeling, bending, pushing/pulling, and twisting.
Motion: Frequent repetitive hand motions, including keyboarding
and use of mouse; occasional reaching.
Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15

Environment: Works inside; occasionally works outside (exposure
to sun, heat, cold, and inclement weather); may require occasional

Minimum Required Qualifications Education: Accredited
High School diploma, GED, or Texas Certificate of High School
Experience: 6 months’ of related work.
