Currently we are looking for a candidate for the position
Commodity Director will manage commodities within the complete
range of strategic sourcing activities including the analysis of
spend, the formulation of and implementation of commodity
strategies, the negotiation of contracts and the ongoing management
of strategic supplier relationships.
Key Responsibilities Responsibilities:
Development and implementation of sourcing strategies for
>$100m of commodity spend.
Management of a team of sourcing specialist in prime locations
Working with vendors and customers at a senior level as a focal
point for strategy and relationship development, including high
level negotiations and contracting.
Leading the team to develop commodity strategies that identify
and deploy improvements within the supply chain to optimize the
total cost of acquisition, setting commodity strategy and policy
with accountability for its success in achieving the strategic
Define and drive Commodity Sourcing strategies for the assigned
commodities to deliver the Procurement Quality, Cost Delivery
objectives aligned to business and customer requirements.
Oversee the day to day management of the Commodity ensuring the
teams are enabled and processes are adhered to achieve the required
quality and service delivery performance from the Commodity.
Provide input into the risk assessments of suppliers and
identify Incora’s preferred supplier plan for future sourcing
Support the transfer of parts to new suppliers ensuring the
source change process for any part transfers to new suppliers is
completed to Incora and / or customer policies and processes to
deliver managed projects in timely manner.
Design and develop the commodity specific supplier development
charter objectives for delivery by the Supplier Development
Engineer and Technical Engineer Procurement.
Establish and maintain projects’ structure, resources, roles &
responsibilities, meeting schedules, risk management, reporting and
communications to ensure the governance of projects.
Drive Commodity KPIs to enable performance to be monitored,
highlighting any potential trends and issues and taking appropriate
action in terms of corrective action or escalation where
Lead strategic supplier contract negotiations for terms and
conditions and notify value stream managers of contract expiration
dates as well as develop renewal strategies as needed.
Participation in improvement activities at department/company
level to enhance business performance.
Bachelor’s degree in relative business discipline.
Minimum of 10 years’ experience within Supply Chain Management
(Fastener and/or Hardware industry) and/or material planning.
Minimum 5 years of experience in a managerial role.
Strong track record of developing and implementing commodity
strategies, with sourcing and negotiating experience in a
technically demanding environment.
Ability to influence, negotiate and make decision, as well as to
demonstrate the knowledge required to engage with both customers
and suppliers at a senior level.
Strong technical knowledge of the commodities, markets and
supply chains managed.
Strong process and project management skills, including a change
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, as well as
strong presentation skills.
