The ISS Manager is responsible for executing the Information
Assurance (IA)program capabilities as stipulated by USG
requirements, but not limited to:NISPOM, ODAA Process Manual,
JSIG-RMF, DCSA Assessment and AuthorizationProcess Manual (DAAPM),
and other DoD requirements.
Supportthe development of Assessment and Authorization artifacts
(SSPs, SCTM, SystemProfiles, SSP attachments, POA&M, testing
documentation, Policies andProcedures, etc.)
Support Information Assurance sustainmentactivities (hardware
change management, software change management, accountmanagement,
media protection, user interface, file transfers,
vulnerabilityscanning and remediation, audit reviews, etc.) for all
DoD systems at the site.
Abilityto use DoD STIG's, CIS Benchmarks, Nessus, SCAP, and/or
other related hardeningand compliance assessment tools to oversee
the implementation and enforcementof security policies
Performoperating systems security features and settings (e.g.
Windows, UNIX, and Linux
InformationSystem Self Inspection, Auditing, Vulnerability Scan
procedures and ContinuousMonitoring
Experiencewith computer auditing procedures
ConductInformation Assurance Training and Awareness
Proficientuse with Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, Power
Point, Access, Visio, etc.)
Utilizestrong critical thinking/analytical skills, attention to
detail, creativity,and a sustained commitment to excellence and
Interfacewith internal and external customers: CIO, Cyber
Security, FSO, CSO, ProgramManagers/Directors, Information
Technology, and DoD Customers, etc.
Detailedoriented and have excellent written and verbal
Effectivelymanage one’s time and be able to prioritize assigned
Willingand able to travel to other locations as required on
occasion (less than15%)
ActiveSecret or Top-Secret clearance
Bachelor’sDegree in Computer Science, Information Systems,
Information Assurance, CyberSecurity, or related field of study,
however significant experience in thisfield may waive the
bachelor’s degree requirement.
4 - 6 years’ experience in Information Systems
Security/Information Assurance, Security Engineering, or IT Systems
Knowledgeable in Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes and
Familiarity with the development of System Security Plans (SSPs)
and/or supporting Assessment & Authorization (A&A)
Experience supporting various computer hardware platforms and
multiple operating systems, both stand alone and LAN/WAN
Working knowledge of operating systems security features and
settings (e.g. Windows, UNIX, and Linux)
Professional demeanor, good interpersonal skills, and ability to
excel in a high-paced multi-tasked environment
Must meet IAM - Level 2 DoD 8570.1-M compliant Professional
Certification or be able to gain certification within 6 months of
start of duties
Preferred Qualifications: Certified Information Systems Security
Prior ISSO/Information Assurance Officer (IAO) or alternate
ISSO/IAO experience or System Administration experience is a
A minimum of four (4) years’ experience in information
assurance/security, RMF/DIACAP/NISPOM, preferred
Experience with Windows and Linux client/server security
administration and the underlying technologies such as TCP/IP, DNS,
LDAP, and the security subsystem (IA&A)
