Bell in Fort Worth, TX has an opening for a Cyber Security Engineer. This role is responsible for coordinating projects, crafting program communication, and managing the status and development of proposals for the H-1, MQ-8C, and AW609 Programs.

The primary focus for our Air Vehicle Cyber Security (AVCS) force is to ensure our products are designed, built and maintainable for cyber resilience. This is accomplished through cross-functional integration throughout the product lifecycle and coordination with customers and regulators. You will be a part of closely knit AVCS team, deployed to Bell product programs, to carryout duties that yield the appropriate certifications and meet other performance requirements.

Duties may include utilization of vulnerability scan tools, creating aircraft architecture design requirements, design review and analysis, threat modeling. Compliance driven programs require DoDi 8510.01/8500.01 RMF certification for military platforms, and will include threat management, mitigation and the implementation of all applicable controls. Serve as SME for various engineering functions and review/validate/remediate the impact all design changes to the AVCS mission.

A day in the life: Engage in the flight controls, avionics architecture or mission system development and influence design from the beginning with cyber security in mind. Take ownership of the vulnerability analysis on our state-of-the-art System Integration labs and aircraft. But more than anything, it's about being open-minded and inquisitive about what's possible to bring the most innovative ideas to life.   • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Information Assurance, Computer Engineer, Computer Science or Engineering majors, with applicable cyber experience preferred.


  • Considering all levels with at least 2 years minimum experience developing, validating and accrediting systems utilizing RMF, NIST 800-53, CNSSI 1253 and STIGs.
  • Must have Department of Defense Instruction (DoDI) 8570.01 (IAT Level II or Level III) Certification prior to employment (ie. Security CE, CISM, CSIA, CISSP or equivalent)
  • Active Secret Clearance.
  • The successful applicant must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret level DoD Security Clearance.

  • System administration, information assurance, cybersecurity, IT architecture, infrastructure, engineering and software architecture design.
  • Performing criticality analysis, security control applicability assessments and development of software assurance tables.
  • STIG (security technical implementation guide) application, testing, and compliance.
  • DoD certification and accreditation process and requirements.
  • Strong analytical skills, with experience in standardizing, collecting, and managing cybersecurity incident data sets.
  • Effective and efficient communication skills and the ability to coordinate, lead and prioritize tasks.
  • Experience with Risk Managed Framework (RMF) or Joint Special Access Program (SAP) Implementation Guide (JSIG) requirements.
  • Experience with threat modeling and analysis.
  • Experience supporting Special Access Required (SAR) security environments.
  • Experience in software languages, specifically Python or PowerShell.
  • Experience with applying traditional RMF processes to non-traditional information systems.
  • Experience building and maintaining effective relationships with customers, internal and external suppliers, as well as horizontal integrations across other teams.
  • Developing, documenting and updating software assurance tables with planned and actual data to enable updates of the Program Protection Plan (PPP).
  • Conducting criticality analysis of current and future production aircraft systems.
  • Developing security assessment plans, performing threat and vulnerability analysis and subsequent testing/evaluation of aircraft systems.
  • Ability to adapt and learn quickly in a complex and dynamic environment.


  • Experience with aircraft data systems.
  • Aerospace design and verification processes to include; requirements develop and verification, preliminary and detailed design, MRP, Planning, Manufacturing, Procurement and Maintenance processes.
  • Supporting Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) audits.
