Job Description:

700 W. Bonds Ranch Rd

Responsible for the preparation and service of meals to children and staff.  Responsible for the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen.  Responsible for adhering to all health and safety policies and guidelines. 

 
COVID-19 considerations:
All Associates are required to wear masks and regular sanitizing must be conducted.
Where permitted by applicable law, must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by date of hire to be considered for employment, if not currently employed by Child Development Schools. 

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • At least 1 year experience cooking/preparing food in a licensed child care center preferred
  • Must meet all Licensing Requirements related to education and ongoing training
  •  

Certificates/Licenses

  • CPR and First Aid required according to state Licensing requirements
  • Must maintain required number of training hours determined by Licensing agency
  • Food Handler’s Permit preferred
  •  

Skills and Abilities

  • Must be able to perform all duties and responsibilities of the job
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Working knowledge and understanding of all state requirements related to storing, preparing and serving food
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in the English language

  • Realizes the importance of serving healthy and yummy meals to children
  • Works efficiently at a fast pace and manages time accordingly
  • Prepares and serves three meals per day according to the weekly menu
  • Ensures that meals are served on time for breakfast, lunch and snack
  • Maintains proper temperatures for food storage, preparation and service
  • Maintains a list of all child allergies, and provides appropriate substitutions when necessary
  • Manages inventory of food and supplies
  • Places orders for food and supplies
  • Aware of and adheres to all Licensing and safety requirements
  • Ensures kitchen is clean and organized at all times
  • Leads and delegates tasks to teachers assigned to help in the kitchen
  • Provides exceptional customer service to the families and children that we serve
  • Maintains confidentiality regarding children and families
  • Reports suspected child abuse or neglect to local child protective agency as required by state law
  • Attends all staff meetings and training sessions
  • Performs other related duties as requested by a member of management
