Job Description:
Paragon is seeking a Nuclear Systems Engineer to join our
Innovation team to support the future development of advanced
nuclear reactor control, monitoring and safety systems.
Responsibilities: Responsible for documenting, capturing, and
managing the technical requirements and configuration of the system
from the highest system level down to the component
levelResponsible for delivery of cohesive, high quality technical
solutions to our customersLead the specific design, development
verification and validation activities of assigned projectsActs as
both an individual contributor and as a lead engineer of the system
development team Required to develop, maintain, and improve design
and analysis processes including procedures and
applicationsPrepares technical drawings, requirements, and
specifications of electrical systems to ensure that installation
and operations conform to standards and customer
requirementsDirects or coordinates manufacturing, construction,
installation, maintenance, support, documentation, and testing
activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and
customer requirementsInspects completed installations and observe
operations to ensure conformance to design and equipment
specifications and compliance with operational and safety
standardsDesigns, implements, maintains, or improves electrical
systems, equipment, facilities, components, and products for use in
commercial nuclear powerCoordinates and implements quality control
objectives, activities, or procedures to resolve system problems,
maximize product reliability, and minimize costsEstimates system
costs, development costs, production costs and effects of design
changes for management review, action, and controlSupport business
growth initiatives, including new products and services and the
development of innovative technical solutions for new plants by
staying current in industry trends and partnering with stakeholders
leveraging industry relationships.Requirements: A minimum of a
Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Systems Engineering,
Electrical Engineering or a related technical degree is required
Minimum of 8 years of experience as a Systems Engineer and/or Lead
Engineer in a systems development environment. Experience working
on successful major nuclear system development projects is highly
desirableExperience working within a Nuclear Quality program
Experience with MATLAB and Simulink is desirableActual technical
experience and working knowledge in design, plant systems, and/or
technical analysis with small modular reactors, advanced
high-temperature sodium fast and molten salt reactor technologies,
high-temperature gas reactors and HALEU or high-enriched research
and test reactor fuel is desirable.Proven ability to create real
and positive change, think creatively and respond rapidly to
changing priorities and customer needs.Proficient in Microsoft
Applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, MS Project)Excellent
interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).Ability
to handle multiple tasks, projects, competing priorities and tight
deadlines simultaneously while maintaining quality and
accuracyDemonstrated ability to maintain a high level of
