Home Instead is looking for caring and compassionate CAREGivers to become a part of our team and join our mission of enhancing the lives of aging adults throughout our community. Home Instead provides a variety of non-medical services that allow seniors to remain in their home and meet the challenges of aging with dignity, care and compassion.*No previous experience necessary - skills training provided by Home Instead*Primary Responsibilities:&bull Contribute to a positive living environment to enhance a client's quality of life&bull Document daily activities and report any significant changes in a client's needs or livingconditions&bull Maintain regular communication with supervisor and office staff&bull Provide Companionship & Home Helper services which could include:o Companionship and conversationo Providing stabilization and assistance with walkingo Preparing meals and cleaning up meal-related itemso Providing medication reminders and appointment reminderso Performing light housekeeping tasks (dusting, vacuuming, making beds, changinglinens, cleaning bathrooms, kitchens, etc.)o Washing and ironing laundryo Running errands (Will need reliable transportation)o Accompanying clients to appointments&bull Provide Personal Care services which could include:o Assisting with bathingo Assisting with groomingo Assisting with toileting and incontinence issues&bull Provide Specialized services which could include:o Advanced Alzheimer's/Dementia Careo Hospice CareSecondary Responsibilities:&bull May require you to run errands and provide incidental transportation for a client usingyour vehicle or a client's vehicle.&bull Perform other reasonable duties as assigned&bull Maintain HIPPA laws and policies at all times including confidentiality of clients -information.
Each Home Instead franchise office is independently owned and operated.Essential Job Requirements:&bull Ability to lift, push or pull 25 pounds&bull Ability to bend, twist, stoop, kneel and reach&bull Complete a criminal background check, DMV check, pre-employment drug screen, 3 professional and 3 personal reference checks.&bull Possess a valid driver's license&bull Possess valid auto insurance&bull Ability to withstand exposure to dust, mold, mildew and cleaning solutions&bull Ability to treat and care for clients and their property with dignity and respect&bull Ability to adapt to various living environments and locations&bull Ability to communicate with clients in a friendly and congenial mannerPersonal assistance services as defined in the Texas Administrative Code may be performed byan unlicensed person who is at least 18 years of age and has demonstrated competency, whencompetency cannot be determined through education and experience, to perform the tasksassigned by the supervisor. An unlicensed person who is under 18 years of age, is a high schoolgraduate or is enrolled in a vocational educational program, and has demonstrated competencyto perform the tasks assigned by the supervisor, may perform personal assistance services.This document describes the general nature and level of work for the position.
