Sr. Impounds RepresentativeNorth Richland Hills, United States of AmericaWHAT YOU WILL BE DOINGo - - - Responsible for managing a portfolio consisting of Impounded Collateral accounts that are 0 to 120+ days delinquent o - - - Mitigating loss and tracking of impounded vehicles by ensuring proper addressing of any risk and demonstrating effective skip tracing techniques when necessaryo - - - Assess the level of risk associated with each stored vehicle to determine an appropriate course of action.o - - - Contact customers to determine their intent with the impounded/stored collateral and collecting payments as required o - - - Resolve complex impound scenarios including police impounds, complex insurance scenarios related to repair liens or regarding two party liable repair checkso - - - Coordinate vehicle recovery working with Third Party Vendors, Impound Lots, Repair Shops, and Law Enforcement within approved thresholdso - - - Review charges assessed by Impound Lots to ensure compliance with state and local lawso - - - Negotiate associated fees/costs to secure collateral to maximize company Positive Net Recovery o - - - Decision accounts on Santander's behalf to either repossess or abandon Impounded vehicles by evaluating the value of the collateral vs. any storage/repair/repossession feeso - - - Preparation of repossession documents required by multi-state municipalities for vehicle recoveryo - - - Communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external customers.o - - - Maintains losses at or below established guidelines for assigned job duties.o - - - Service Inbound calls in accordance with Quality Assurance requirementso - - - Handles escalated Customer/Impound related calls routed from other departments.o - - - Properly document all account activity in system of recordo - - - Recommend referral to outside counsel as neededo - - - Research and resolve complex customer accounts while adhering to department policies and procedures, as well as Fair Debt Collection Practices Act guidelines. -Other Functions:o - - - Special projects as requestedo - - - Performs other duties as assigned -Requirements:o - - - High school diploma or GED equivalent required.o - - - Minimum 1 year account management, loan servicing, or customer service experience or equivalent education/training required.o - - - Must have the ability to work in a production/quality and multi tasked team environmento - - - Previous Impounds, Account/Portfolio management, call center, collections experience preferred.o - - - Must be an effective communicator with strong Interpersonal skills necessary to promote a cooperative team environment, provide good customer service and negotiation skills.o - - - Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Wordo - - - Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations in order to perform duties described aboveo - - - Must have ability to multi-task, pay close attention to detail, and ability to work in fast paced environmento - - - Excellent problem solving, planning, organizational and prioritization skillso - - - Excellent oral and written communication skillso - - - Accurate typing and data entry skills.o - - - Background in automotive financial services a plusExperience: -o - - - 0-3 years Three (3) years Collections experience in automobile collections.o - - - 0-3 years One (1) year previous late stage/recovery experience.Skills & Abilities: - -o - - - Strong knowledge of collection policies and procedures and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and applicable federal and state statutes.o - - - Demonstrates thorough understanding of the repossession/charge-off processes.o - - - Flexibility, adaptability, and acceptance of change in a dynamic financial environment.o - - - Strong verbal and written communication skills.o - - - Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations.o - - - Accurate data entry, typing and ten-key skills.o - - - Strong customer experience skills.o - - - Ability to maintain poise under pressure.o - - - Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.Working Conditions:o - - - Frequently: Minimal physical effort such as sitting, standing, and walking.o - - - Occasional moving and lifting of equipment and furniture is required to support onsite and offsite meeting setup and teardown.o - - - Physically capable of lifting up to fifty pounds, able to bend, kneel, climb ladders.Employer's Rights:o - - - This job description does not list all the duties of the job. - You may be asked by your supervisors or managers to perform other duties. - You will be evaluated in part based upon your performance of the tasks listed in this job description.o - - - The employer has the right to revise this job description at any time. - This job description is not a contract for employment, and either you or the employer may terminate employment at any time, for any reason.
