DO:\\Workforce Development Specialist performs complex
(journey-level)employment work. Work involves conducting interviews
to assess clientneeds, disseminating information and facilitating
access to workforcedevelopment programs, and providing employment
counseling services.Works under general supervision, with moderate
latitude for the use ofinitiative and independent judgment.\\\\YOU
WILL BE TRUSTED TO:\\-Disseminates information regarding Workforce
Development Services,Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF),
Supplemental NutritionAssistance Program Employment and Training
(SNAP ET), WorkforceInnovation Opportunity Act (WIOA), Child Care
and Development, JobCorps, Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) ,
Unemployment Insurance (UI),and supportive services.\\-Provide
assistance to clients with applications for employment,ensuring
completeness, and with job searches, resume preparation, andother
related activities.\\-Interview clients to assess and record
information regarding trainingneeds, education, experience, skills,
interest, and other relevantfactors to determine clientand#39;s
career development opportunities andeligibility of benefits.\\-May
counsel clients who have complex job placement or job
adjustmentchallenges. Maintains case management records.\\-Provide
assistance to employers in establishing accounts, using jobmatching
system, and amending job posting information.\\-Determine
employersand#39; job requirements, matches clients to currentjob
opening, and refers qualified clients.\\-Contact employers to
discuss ways to improve services and meet labormarket needs more
effectively.\\-Verifie satisfactory placement of clients with
employers.\\-Provide statistical information.\\-May assist in
hiring events, such as job fairs.\\-Assist in developing the
marketing, instructional, or trainingmaterials to distribute to
internal and external clients.\\-May conduct presentations to
explain employment programs and services,to include training and
education for Workforce Development Team.\\-Attend and participates
in assigned Workforce Centerand#39;s teammeetings, assigned program
meetings, townhalls, etc.\\-Successfully completes of all assigned
industry specializationtrainings.\\-Performs related work as
assigned.\\\\YOU QUALIFY WITH:\\-Three year of full-time qualifying
experience in gathering information,interviewing or counseling;
instruction, demonstration, andinterpretation of policies in a
public or private enterprise; directsocial work; eligibility
determination; customer service; or workforcedevelopment issues and
programs.\\-Fifteen semester hours of accredited college work may
be substitutedfor each six months of experience.\\\\YOU ARE A GREAT
FIT WITH:\\-Knowledge of interviewing procedures and assessment
techniques.\\-Knowledge of Workforce Development programs. Customer
servicetechniques.\\-Knowledge of agency policies and
procedures.\\-Knowledge of English language sufficient to compose
correspondence,summarize information, and write case
narratives.\\-Skill in com uter terminals.\\-Skill in conducting
interviews.\\-Skill in vounseling others.\\-Ability to establish
and maintain effective public contacts.\\-Ability to demonstrate
sensitivity toward persons whose behavior,attitudes and/or cultural
background are different from oneand#39;sown.\\-Ability to treat
customers with courtesy and respect.\\-Ability to handle hostile or
emotional clients in a professionalmanner.\\-Ability to identify
the needs, strengths and weaknesses of others.\\-Ability to use
tact, and diplomacy when providing suggestions
tocustomers.\\-Ability to extract information from a computer
system and a widevariety of written materials such as forms,
resource lists and caserecords.\\-Ability to interpret data on a
computer system.\\-Ability to resolve problems.\\-Ability to set
priorities and organize workloads to meet deadlines.\\-Ability to
communicate policies and procedures to employees.\\-Ability to
observe employee performance and record observations.\\-Ability to
coordinate, organize and facilitate group sessions.\\-Ability to
