Growing Company in the transportation sector seeking an experienced, motivated Sales Representative to interact with clients and prospects, assisting them with their need for our services. The successful candidate will be a skilled and seasoned Transportation Sales professional. The ability to work well in a fast-paced environment is a must. Sales Representative Responsibilities and Job Duties:

  • Services existing accounts and develop new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing or potential customers.
  • Working with Operations team to assess issues and educate about new opportunities.
  • Focused sales effort by studying existing and potential markets and client volume.
  • Keeps management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses-forecasts-budgets.
  • Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, services and other areas occurring in the market.
  • Recommends changes in service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments.
  • Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems; developing solutions; preparing reports; making recommendations to management.
  • Provide historical records by maintaining records on area and customer sales.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Participate in marketing events such as seminars, trade shows, and telemarketing events.
  • Present and sell company products and services to current and potential clients. Sales Representative Skills and Qualifications:
    • Education: Bachelors degree preferred
    • Experience: 5+ years direct outside sales experience in the transportation industry a plus.
    • Goal oriented with ability to formulate, establish, execute, analyze, and evaluate the results of goals set forth by the sales representative as well as those of the sales organization and the company as a whole.
    • Closing Skills with the ability to establish needs, ability to fulfill needs and identification, as well as elimination of hindrances of the order being placed.
    • Knowledge of clients and prospects within scope of your territory and how to effectively and frequently reach them.

    • Motivation and desire to sale
    • Ability to translate complicated technical jargon for the average consumer

    • Presentation skills and the ability to develop and deliver presentations.
    • Knowledge of advertising and sales promotion techniques.
    • Maintaining a professional appearance and providing a positive company image to the public.
    • Requires significant regional and local travel to current clients and prospects.
    • Effective Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability speak to customers about a product's different features and answer any questions they might have without being condescending or demeaning.
