Description: This is a System Engineer position as a Project Lead in the Labs and Tech Services (L&TS) Organization. L&TS a highly innovative team responsible for developing, testing and maintaining aircraft simulation systems and subsystems utilized for aircraft capability integration and weapons systems development from concept design through production and delivery. Within L&TS resides an extensive collection of systems integration and test capabilities, including low-cost rapid prototyping concept development systems, full-dome handling qualities simulations, high-fidelity multi-ship, real-time, man-in-the-loop simulation systems, Reprogramming Laboratories, and hardware-in-the-loop mission systems and vehicle systems integration venues. The candidate will provide project and technical leadership for the F-35 System Integration Labs (SIL) Line of Business (LOB) in the Labs & Technical Services organization. Candidate will provide project management and technical guidance to hardware, software and system engineers in the development of multiple simulation products. Candidate will serve as the Control Account Manager (CAM) responsible for cost and schedule for small to medium size contracts. Will need to demonstrate significant experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS) to perform cost and schedule variance analysis; develop monthly estimate to complete assessments; maintenance of the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS); risk/opportunity impacts; implement scope changes; and new program baseline activity - all in accordance with established monthly business rhythm. The candidate will be responsible for preparing development plans and schedules, guiding the team in the execution of the plans and then tracking progress to the plans. The candidate will provide daily assistance to the engineers to resolve conflicts and ensure that the development follows department systems engineering processes. Experience with planning and scheduling tools and techniques, and software development processes are fundamental requirements for the job. The position requires frequent and effective interaction with internal and external customers, technical staff and leadership. The candidate must have exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Must be a US citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access. An active secret clearance will be required after starting. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university Technical background in systems engineering, system architectures, software development or related field. Experience in team leadership and project management. Experience with system development processes. Project Management Experience. Experience leading multi-discipline teams. Desired Skills: Master's degree from an accredited college or university Control Account Manager Experience. Experience with software development. Experience developing system / software architectures. Familiarity with the F-35 Mission Systems domain. Experience in estimating software development tasks. Hands-on experience in the development of hardware-in-the-loop simulation software. Simulation and Systems Integration Lab experience Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
