The architect will have a deep understanding of how secure, scalable and robust enterprise SaaS applications are built. The Principal Enterprise Architect will be an integral part of Bottomline's organization through leading and influencing decision makers on the best ways to adopt technology to the product lines' and companies' advantage.This position can be based out of a Remote location within the US, East Coast preferredHow You'll ContributeCatalog, develop, coordinate, communicate and maintain software architectural standards, reference implementation models, best practices, design guidelines and processes across the firmChampion a business/technology capability mindset across the firm; be an active change agent within our organization leading the adoption of technology standards, processes, and techniquesRegularly participate, and when necessary, lead architectural design sessions at both the lowest levels within an application as well as high-level construct and integration pointsBe an active member of the Architecture Steering Committee for the definition of standards, review of architecture/design, perform objective proof of concepts while selecting tools/technologiesKnow the product road map for relevant software vendors and understand the impact on BT solutions (end of life, support, deprecation, licensing, pricing etc.)Review designs with an understanding the impact and application of regulatory and internal policies (e.g. FFIEC, HIPAA, GDPR, CCPA, PCI-DSS, HIPPA and SLAs)Regularly review ongoing implementations for opportunities for continuous improvementDevelop and maintain strong relationships with multiple stakeholders - product lines, cross-functional engineering teams, executive leadership, to garner support, influence and accelerate transformation towards a modern SaaS product mindset.Be the glue between cross-functional teams on technical design; explain business strategy to other architects and technical teamsProvide coaching and guidance across multiple engineering teamsProactively and consistently identify and report on design deficiencies and product/operation/project risks and drive risk reduction efforts proactivelyContribute to complex documentationAuthor and publish whitepapers on relevant areasSimplify complex business problems to help engineering team conduct root cause analysisRecommends new and innovative approaches to analyzing data and solving problems to help draw meaningful conclusionsActively contribute to building the talent pipeline; create a talent experience that attracts, develop and retain top talent and high performing teamsWhat Will Make You SuccessfulExtensive technical background in the IT industry with strong technical leadership/architecture background in PaaS/SaaS software developmentProven experience with at least one major IaaS and/or PaaS technology provider (AWS, Azure, GCP, OpenStack)Strong background designing and delivering large-scale distributed systems leveraging modern SaaS constructsCurrent experience applying new and emerging technologies such as, but not limited to: API Gateway, Service Mesh, Identity & Access Management, Secret Management, Event Driven Design, Microservices, Data Mesh, AI/Machine Learning and BlockchainExpert understanding of security, reliability, scalability, high availability, and concurrency architectural patterns in solutionsExpert in solution design across the full technology stack, including for public and hybrid cloud deployments.Have good knowledge of data enablement - ingestion, storage, wrangling with the requisite security constructs (encryption, keys, certs, tokens)Possess a mastery in architecture modeling techniques, e.g. functional, use case, logical, data, security, deployment architecture viewsAble to model the components of applications and infrastructure and identify and outline points of integration; understand the value and importance of data and data analyticsHave a positive and all in attitude to work collaboratively within and across teamsProven success coaching and influencing company wideInfluential speaker and an expert in designing and delivering presentations; can work with cross-functional teams across multiple cultures and time zonesAdvanced experience in relative field and/or a degree in related technologiesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsYou'll love Botttomline because in everything we do we seek to delight our customers and we are passionate about building a company of which we can all be proud, and this starts with building amazing teams filled with team members that challenge you every day.Start your #LifeAtBTby Jobble
