Description Medical TechnicianShift: Days (rotating
weekends)POSITION SUMMARY: The Medical Technologist performs
various laboratory tests to obtain data for use in the diagnosis
and treatment of diseases. The incumbent receives or obtains
specimens for laboratory analysis and applies techniques used in
fields of bacteriology, parasitology, hematology, serology, blood
banking, urinalysis, chemical and morphological examinations. The
Technologist assumes responsibility for problem solving,
instruction of new employees and quality control and
instrumentation. The incumbent must manage stress appropriately,
make decisions under pressure, manage
anger/fear/hostility/violence, handle multiple priorities and be
able to work alone. The incumbent can expect to care for adult
patients, including the older adult through geriatric, and
pediatric patients from newborn through adolescenceMedical City
Fort Worth is a 320-bed facility offering comprehensive diagnostic
and treatment services, including cardiac care, neurosciences,
oncology, orthopedics, kidney transplant surgery, and emergency
care. Medical City Fort Worth serves as a tertiary referral center
for Tarrant County and other counties within a 90-mile radius.
