We are looking for an Associate Electrical Engineer to join our
team! This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated
candidate to work on a project team with other electrical engineers
engaged in the planning, design, upgrade, and modification of large
electrical projects. Performing assigned general duties of limited
scope and level of responsibility, this position is designed to
develop broader Electrical Engineering knowledge and experience.
This role teaches and applies established procedures and techniques
in accomplishment of work activities. Recent college graduates are

Duties & Responsibilities: The statements below are intended to
describe the general nature and scope of work performed in this
role. This is not a complete listing of all responsibilities,

Performing under the direction and supervision of the Senior
Electrical Engineer, this role has the responsibility to perform
the essential job duties and functions as listed below:
- Assist electrical engineers with electrical system designs for
electrical commercial projects
- Perform and check calculations, specify electrical equipment,
and solve problems of engineering complexity
- Develop knowledge of Electrical design in power distribution,
lighting, single line diagrams, and load calculations
- Check that designs and finished products follow specifications,
regulations and contract details
- Participate in equipment and material procurement activities
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Mainly office but may also include all other work environments
as required: sit, stand, talk, hear, use hands and fingers to
operate a computer keyboard and telephone.
- Work is generally performed in climate-controlled office
environment.
- Primary environment: ambient room temperatures, lighting, and
traditional office equipment as found in a typical office
environment.
- Considerable time is spent at a desk using a computer
terminal.
- May on occasion be exposed to loud sounds and distracting noise
levels, such as from office equipment.
- Can be exposed to hazardous materials, loud noises and extreme
heat/cold temperatures, if visiting job sites or other off-site
events.
- Can be exposed to Heavy Equipment, slippery surfaces, uneven
footing on the jobsite
- Moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phone, and
printers, light foot traffic). PHYSICAL FUNCTION
- Repeat the same mental activities.
- Ability to operate a keyboard at efficient speed and typical
business office equipment, including computer hardware.
- Regularly required to talk and/or hear; use hands to operate
objects, tools or controls (phone, computer, printer etc.); and
reach with hands and arms.
- Work performed causes fatigue of eyes, fingers and other
facilities because of continuous use of motor senses.
- Vision and hearing at or correctable to normal ranges.
- May be occasionally be asked to lift, stoop, kneel, and/or move
objects up to 25 pounds.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is
regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear and use hands.
- Regular, predictable attendance is required. Qualifications
- This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical
Engineering with less than 2 years of engineering experience with a
concentration in commercial and industrial large construction
projects
- Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include
but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors,
contractors, and visitors
- Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the
job
- Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and
time-effective manner
- Strong aptitude for Mathematics
- Knowledge of electrical power fundamentals
- Basic knowledge of single and three phase power systems
- Able to identify, analyze and solve problems
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong computer software skills including MS Office
(particularly Excel) Pluses:
- Engineer In Training (EIT)
- Knowledge of NEC
- Experience with AutoCAD, SKM, ETAP, or Revit
- Field Experience
