performance test passage rate. Summary Objective The Environmental
Specialist is responsible for supporting and maintaining
environmental compliance programs at Stellar Energy Americas, Inc.
This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local
environmental regulations, including hazardous waste management,
stormwater and spill prevention programs, air compliance, and
environmental monitoring and reporting. The position supports
manufacturing, construction, and field operations by providing
regulatory expertise, inspections, training, documentation, and
corrective action oversight. Essential Functions Ensure compliance
with applicable environmental regulations, including RCRA, Clean
Air Act, Clean Water Act, SPCC, EPCRA, and applicable state and
local requirements. Hazardous and Non-Hazardous Waste Management
Perform waste characterizations and hazardous waste determinations.
Oversee container labeling, storage, inspections, secondary
containment, and accumulation time limits. Coordinate hazardous
waste shipments, manifests, land disposal restriction (LDR)
notifications, and TSDF communications. Maintain manifests, waste
profiles, inspection logs, and required records. Stormwater & Spill
Prevention Compliance Conduct routine Stormwater Pollution
Prevention Plan (SWPPP) inspections and monitoring activities.
Perform and document SPCC inspections, including tank, drum, and
secondary containment inspections. Support stormwater sampling,
benchmark monitoring, visual assessments, and corrective actions as
required. Maintain SWPPP and SPCC plans, inspection records,
training documentation, and corrective action tracking. Air
Compliance & Monitoring Conduct routine air monitoring and
inspections to verify compliance with applicable air permits and
regulatory requirements. Track air emissions-related operational
requirements, inspections, and recordkeeping. Support compliance
with Clean Air Act requirements, including visible emissions
observations and operational monitoring. Assist with air permit
applications, renewals, and reporting as required. Inspections,
Audits, and Reporting Perform routine environmental inspections and
internal audits of accumulation areas, storage locations, and
operational activities. Identify compliance gaps, recommend
corrective actions, and track closure to completion. Support
regulatory inspections and act as a technical liaison with
regulatory agencies when requested. Training & Program Support
Provide environmental training to employees, including RCRA
hazardous waste handling, spill prevention, stormwater awareness,
and general environmental compliance. Support spill response
planning, incident investigations, and required regulatory
notifications. Coordinate with operations, maintenance,
engineering, and safety teams to integrate environmental
requirements into daily work activities. Support environmental data
collection, sustainability initiatives, and continuous improvement
efforts as assigned. Work Location This position will be worked out
of our Normandy Manufacturing Facility in Jacksonville, FL. This
position is not approved for telecommuting or working remotely. Or
where the employee will physically work. Work Environment Most work
is performed in an office environment or manufacturing floor.
Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the
employee is regularly required to sit. The employee frequently is
required to walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with
hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally
required to stand. The employee must frequently lift or move
objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move objects up to
25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include
close vision, distance vision, color vision and the ability to
adjust focus. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a
full-time position Monday through Friday between 6:00 a.m. and 4:30
p.m. Travel Some occasional travel may be necessary. Occasional
travel to Stellar Energy facilities and training may be required.
Required Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) in
Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, or a
closely related field, or an equivalent combination of education
and relevant experience. Minimum of 2–5 years of environmental
compliance experience in manufacturing, industrial, construction,
or energy-related environments. Working knowledge of: RCRA
hazardous waste regulations (40 CFR Parts 260–279) Stormwater and
SPCC requirements Air compliance and monitoring fundamentals
Ability to interpret environmental regulations and apply them to
operational activities. Strong organizational, documentation, and
communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience
with EHS management systems preferred. Preferred Education and
Experience Experience supporting LQG or SQG facilities. Hands-on
experience conducting SWPPP, SPCC, and air compliance inspections.
Familiarity with environmental permitting and regulatory agency
inspections. OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER, RCRA Hazardous Waste, or
equivalent environmental training. Experience in energy, EPC, or
industrial manufacturing environments. Additional Eligibility
Qualifications Annual recertification is required Work
