Position Information The Texas A&M AgriLife Research and
Extension Center at Stephenville are seeking a highly motivated
full-time postdoctoral research associate with an interest in
environmental microbiology, environmental processes, advanced or
renewable materials for environmental applications, waste-derived
biofuels and bioproducts, and greenhouse gas control. Successful
candidates should have knowledge in one or more of the following
areas: Responsibilities: Environmental microbiology for microbial
community analysis, antibiotic-resistant genes and pathogens in
water, soil, plants, and sludge. Environmental processes, including
adsorption, advanced oxidation/reduction, and biological treatment.
Advanced or renewable materials, including biochar and other carbon
materials, for water purification and environmental remediation.
Production of biofuels, biochemicals, and bioproducts from various
waste. Greenhouse gas control in soil, water, and contaminated
sites. Supervise technicians and undergraduates. Coordinate
research activities with a large team of collaborators. Present
data in scientific meetings. Prepare manuscripts for publication.
Research activities with a multidisciplinary team of collaborators,
including university faculty, industry partners, and external
research institutions. Foster strong relationships with
collaborators to ensure seamless communication, sharing of data,
and integration of research objectives. Supervise laboratory
technicians, undergraduate, and graduate students. Performs other
duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Ph.D. in environmental
engineering science, chemical engineering, biological engineering,
agricultural engineering, microbiology, biochemistry, and molecular
biology. Experience with water treatment, biofuel and bioproducts,
emerging contaminants, and advanced materials. Strong publication
record in peer-reviewed journals. Excellent interpersonal
communication skills and ability to establish effective working
relationships. Strong organizational skills. Statistical analysis.
? Preferred Qualifications Production and applications of biochar
for environmental, energy, and agricultural processes.
Environmental biotechnology for analyzing microbial communities,
antibiotic resistance, microbial pathogens, and microbial
metabolites. Production, characterization, and applications of
advanced materials, including biochar and carbon materials.
Production of biofuels and bioproducts from agricultural waste,
microalgae, and other biomass. Treatment of emerging contaminants
(such as antibiotics, algal toxins, and PFAS) in water and soil.
Analytical instruments (i.e., lc/ms, hplc, gc, icp, ic, xrd,
sem/edx, xps, etc). Analysis of nutrients, antibiotics, and
microbial pathogens from soil, water, and plants. Molecular
techniques, including QPCR and 16S microbial community analysis.
What You Need to Know Salary: Compensation for this position is
commensurate based on the selected candidate’s qualifications.
Position Funding: This position is grant-funded, and availability
is contingent on grant funding. Location: Stephenville, Texas (pop.
25,000) is in Erath County, approximately 90 miles southwest of
Fort Worth, Texas. Agriculture, education, and manufacturing are
